That very low bridge on the 27. The 28 can manage deckers but doesn't need them

Are you trying to create an open top fleet? Definately cannot have deckers on the 28!

Yes you can!!

Under a 13ft bridge?

You divert it as always was down south road! Problem solved!

Tony, that link doesn't work? Was there some kind of accident on the 28 before? And I always wondered why the 28 never saw deckers. Can you tell me where the low bridge is please as I'm only really familiar with the route between Heartlands Hospital and Pype Hayes.

It does work but you need to be logged into Facebook

Have you been down South Road lately? Do you know why it was taken off South Road? I think you will find the service would soon grind to a halt with two buses facing each other with no-where to go

Thats not a very nice comment, Tony was only trying to explain why South Road can't be used.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Bear in mind when Central Buses use deckers on the 28E, they have to divert on to South Road because of the low bridge(and that can be a narrow squeeze at times in itself). Shame though as the 28 could do with deckers in the peak.

I will back Tony up on this one, if you look at this:

Which isn't a 7 minute frequency and buses are unlikely to meet each other going in opposite directions.

Yes I drove fleetlines on the 28 often enough from Washwood Heath garage down South Road and now that with parked cars both sides of the road there was no passing point for buses even in the 1980s and you used to dread entering it from Reservoir Road and seeing a bus come around the corner from the other end. And yes, that IS the reason NXWM removed the service from that road because buses were having to reverse!

I think people should show Tony some respect..i doubt anyone has as much knowledge as Tony about buses in the West Midlands..Far to many people ( one in paticular) who have never driven a bus or worked in the industry seem to think because they ride about on buses they know everything about the industry.

I agree, there can't be much Tony doesn't know about West Midlands buses having worked for WMPTE/WMT/TWM & NXWM over the past 35 years

Could we get back to buses please... When are the new Enviros to enter service?

Based on the E400H entering service in WN i'd say mid - late june or early July

Noticed from Tony's pictures on the main site that like the latest E400Hs, this next batch no longer has the "Enviro 400" wording on the rear bonnet. Shame, this was a nice bit of detail, but presumably the plain bonnets are cheaper.

The E400 wording is also not on the E400H at WN
