Arent the B7s limited to 45mph anyway?

Ashley 4569

I think they are slower than the 54 plate Tridents usually allocated, put a 966 gemini against a 900 trident do a drag race on the Asd from the travelodge turning to the airport turning, be quite interesting

Trident would win hands down

Good idea but the issue of type training comes in to it

BC used to have plaxton presidents and currently have b7 gemini hybrids not sure how different they are to drive to the normal diesel gemini's with the relation to the need of type training.

BC have previously had B7TL/ALX 400 and currently have Wright Eclipse Urban 2s/B7RLE, which I imagine have similar controls to the B7 Geminis
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
Local Routes: 21, 89, 48/A, 12/A, 54/A
Semi-local routes: 80, 87

I know their the ex premier 997 Gemini's so hi backed seating etc but and some are now branded for the X51 but I would have thought some enviro 400's would been brought in possibly new for the X51 such as 4880-4 allowing the gemini's may be to go to PB for the sutton lines or other services such as the 907 are maybe possibly AG for the outer circle or WB for the Dudley Road/Soho Road services or the 83/89. Also 4680-6 would be ideal for the 900 comfortable dual purpose buses for the stretch on the A45.

I think, no matter what happens, some Geminis will end up going to WB, hopefully primarily for the 83/89, so some R/S mercs can be withdrawn. I can see some PB Geminis moving to WB, to keep numbers together

A B7 alx400 a B7 Plaxton a B5 hybrid and a B7 Gemini are different buses so you would need to be trained separately.

No. The presidents are generally limited to around 44mph, but nearly every other bus in the fleet has the limiter set at about 50mph. (4309 is set at 38mph)

Isn't there or wasn't there an unlimited President?

I think it still is because I got on 4023 about 2 or 3 weeks ago on the 73 and it went fast well that's because it was running 20 minutes late

and as the 73 travels on roads with a 30 mph limit I very much doubt it was even anywhere near even 44mph!

This is the same as the other topic about acceleration of tridents versus B7s, yes the trident feels faster but you will find they are very similar, when I used to drive the X51 a Gemini would always be able to beat a trident away from the lights at Newtown Baths even though the trident felt faster

Going back on topic, all we know is that ten enviro400s are due for coventry out of this years order for 60, the other 50 we don't know their destinations, added to that, the majority of the batch is yet to have occupied a space on the production line

I hope some go to BC to upgrade a couple of corridors, I would love the Coventry Road to get NEW Buses but I'll still be happy if they upgrade the Bristol Road or Pershore Road Corridors
