With all these Mercs at WN being withdrawn, Does this mean the B6's are staying?

Yes Nathan, i wondered that?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Tony

As some of you will no doubt have worked out, the current intention is that following the completion of the new bus deliveries next month and subsequent cascades WN will lose all of its Merc's, WA & WB their B6's and YW their B10L's. Now is the time for your last rides.

The intention is that the remaining B6's will be concentrated at WN, the remaining B10L's at WA; and the last Merc's at PE, WB and CV.

Thanks for the clarification Tony!

Wolves256

Tony, I thought 3 vehicle types would be eliminated with this years deliveries?
Short E200s have seen off Solos and I assume the WB Darts by the end of this month
Long E200s based on the locations would see of remaining WB, PL and WA B6s
So what has changed?

And there are now no Merc Varios in use with 241 taken out the training fleet

And the B6LE & B10L's that are set to remain in service are obviously in better condition than some of the Mercs which are younger

I just knew WN would keep its B6's a while longer! As it would be stupid not to keep them instead of really worn out Mercs

It's a certainly a good advert for Wrightbus bodywork with both B10L's & B6LE's seeing in 2015 in service

Oh, it is!! ;D This just made me happy! ;D ;D

So would this mean wN's B6 fleet increase but only consist of the better examples ie 638 needs putting out of its misery. Would the same be done with B10's and Mercs, only the best will survive as long as they're red and white

Ronnoc

What new vehicles will be coming in to YW to replace the B10L's. I never want them to be withdrawn. I think they only have 1 ZF.

The slow demise of the Travel days are approaching fast. With the old Mercs and B6/10's falling like flies it won't be long before only true 'modern' vehicles remain. I class B7TL Presidents as modern after their intensive refurbs a few years ago.

No more blue in Birmingham soon!

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.
