Isn't it the South Birmingham/Solihull Network Review in a couple months? You would think something will be done about the 49

Yes, and the 49 was one of the routes under consultation.

Centro's proposal for the 49 is to split the route into 2 or 3 sections, with the preferred proposal seeming to be to curtail the 49 to Solihull to Frankley, and then extend the 29 to Rubery to cover the rest:

They also mentioned that wherever they choose to split the route, passengers will be inconvenienced, which is true. The most logical terminus would be Frankley, although I'm not completely familiar with South Birmingham

I recall them only running to Frankley at one time. Soon changed them back to Northfield.

In the time I've been living over this way, I remember the 49 used to go to Northfield, and it was the 69 that went to Weoley Castle. From Solihull.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

True. It was changed after masses of complaints from BRSouth residents only having the 63 to Northfield etc

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Isn't the 63 incredibly quicker to Northfield than the 49 though :o

Well yes but there's other connections the 49 gives those residents! Not all people can get the 63 and other detials

Fair enough, looking at the consultation. The most likely terminus for the 49 would be either Northfield, Frankley, Longbridge or Cotteridge (can't see the 49 being curtailed to Cotteridge)

Then the usual waffle reference Great Park servings and 29A extension / 29 etc

Saw a Trident on both the 35 & 50 at the same time on Moor Street. Where are the Enviros?

The 35 is still having at least 4 tridents a day, or has been this week at least. I think Tony mentioned that so many (5?) were Off the Road with defects, or as I like to call it PBs Crap Maintenance.

So why accuse me of critisising fellow employees? I posted the fact that when I went into YW there was a high proportion of them inside the garage VoR nothing else.

PM

Surely it is just that they are unrefurbed 6 year old buses that have been thrashed up and down the expressway as opposed to PBs maintenance. They seem to have some of the smartest best maintained buses in the fleet

Tony, Are you getting Trident 4370's and Shauns posts mixed up as i can't see any evidence of Shaun accusing you of anything?

Yes, sorry SH4166, it is my mistake, it is Trident4370 who accused me of critisising PB maintenance, it is just you that quoted my comment saying I didn't.
