The new route branding is the same shade as what was applied to 4177 Julie. I start in garage tomorrow morning so if it's about i'll get the fleet number.

The fleet number is 4458 it is more or less similar to 4177, but sports '24 hours' and an aeroplane transfer.

Best photo I could get today is http://wmbusphotos.com/NXWM/4225-4474/4458.html

I think it looks great - the very dark blue contrasts well with the red. Like the 24 hrs 7 days a week as well.

I agree, I still wonder if having the entire front panel blue with NXWM 97 might not look better than the current peculiar shape vinyl being used at present. Still as massive improvement on the green 97 branding........

That does look really quite good but it'd be great to see the 9 go the 24hr thing to - Perhaps a 9A linking up with the 97 after midnight, using the 127/128/129 route in the city centre. Even if the use the new Wright/Volvo single deckers on the quieter days, double decks on the busier mornings ie Saturday 00:00-06:00 and Sunday 00:00-06:00.

West to East route so to speak.. Getting a taxi to and from Halesowen must be a killer, especially for airport drops! - It costs me £10-£15 just to get back to Bearwood (skanky Falcon Cabs gangsters  >:( )

And then we get back to the "we need night buses everywhere" debate...
Just a warning, but you'll get shot down for suggeting that
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

Bit of a random question, but I wonder at what point daysavers will expire on the 97 now.

I only ask as a daysaver purchased during the day can still be used on the last bus home, which often in the case of say the 9 or the 50 can be closer to 1am?

JB93

I'd probably guess they wouldn't allow daysavers after the last 97 terminating at Chelmsley Wood at around midnight. If they let them be used all night there'd be overlap with the next day's services and it would get confusing

JB93

Thats assuming that its only the Airport 97 that runs all night and not the one terminating at Chelmsley Wood too!

Isle of Stroma

Branded 4448 put in an appearance on one of the International School bratexes this afternoon, bet it's been wrecked already!

Not overly impressed with the branding personally. Acres of bodywork available, so slap the branding on the windows natch'.  ::)

Only the Airport 97 runs 24 hr. The last Chelmsley Wood leaves town at 00.10

I'm quite excited for it to be honest :), I hope it does well

Personally I think the 94 would be a higher priority for Enviros than the 97, especially when Claribels have 62 Reg buses competing.

Apparantely PB management are looking to improve the 94 in 2nd half of the year.

Has that come from a source within PB garage though? If it does happen that'll be great :) might even get branding again

I'm sure the conditions on the ticket are valid until 05:00 the next day. After this time then the first 'morning' services start.

There may be special conditions for the 97. I think this is being subsidised be Birmingham Airport.

I only mentioned the 9 bus because of the west-east link and it seems to be (despite recent tragic events) one of the perhaps, nice routes to run the buses through..
