The sooner a decision is made on E334 the better for this site and its users. I suspect a decision has, probably, already been made but clearly is, for some reason, subject to the Official Secrets Act!

Or forum users stressing about whether E334 will/will not arrive, could simply get on with their life....

Going back 4 pages Tony said nobody has ordered E334 so there's the answer to whether it will come or not.

cant see what all the fuss is about over E334, there are other buses that have not yet hit the streets, E334 is not needed at present & neither are the YUTONGS in time to come im sure we probably will see them all in traffic but until that day comes we should all just sit & wait - they cant scrap stuff quick enough to get them out, but then they also do not have the full capacity to charge them yet

I remember when The Metrobuses first came in they said it would only take a year for them to take over, not only did it take more than that but by the time the Fleetlines died, The Metros were also on the way out..... Think About It !!
3000 F300 XOF

My understanding of the situation, summarising up comments left in other threads:

E334 as a vehicle has been built for NX as a 'seed vehicle'

NX have not yet been able to 'trial' this vehicle, as it uses a different charging system, therefore they have no means of recharging it.

A compatible charger has now been installed at Perry Barr garage, but has not yet been commissioned for use.

Once the charger is available, then NX can take the vehicle and trial and evaluate it. (For how long I do not know)

If NX are suitably impressed and decide to place an order, then they get to keep the vehicle (as part of that order). If they decline to place an order, then the vehicle gets returned back to Alexander Dennis.

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

It seems inevitable that we will see an order for these new E400EVs considering that the majority of NXWM's fleet is ADL. But I'm looking forward to seeing E334 in action, which shouldn't take too long hopefully.

The ADL demo is a seed vehicle owned by ADL (i.e. placed with an operator to tempt them to place future orders), so there is nothing to order.

No idea why its still being deliberated to death, if it comes, it comes... if it doesn't oh well.... 🤷

If people were so desperate to go and ride one of these ADL models, Just go down to Leamington, Stagecoach have got a fleet of them in service already... They the same thing anyway?

39mph on the BYDs, 52mph for diesels (I think).

Tony

It's 70 kph and 80 kph to be exact (43/50)

I'm with you on this @winston - nowt different to any other new bus that's ever been built.

We had the same furore with "new" diesels when Adblue was new technology and I don't remember this much of a rumpus.
