If it happens as it should there will be more electrics moved in, but don't expect a rush. YW are currently running 32 off 19 chargers

Could potentially E018 come back into service when that happens?

The electrics are regularly appearing on the 50 now, as well as all other double-deck routes at YW. Only route you'll never see them on is the 27.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

I went past YW garage on Saturday afternoon, I noticed a 'big green box' has appeared out the front, which was barricaded off. I assume this is something to do with the extra power supply to the garage, or is housing the additional storage batteries.

(I haven't been by the garage for several weeks so I'm not sure when this was installed, never noticed it before)

Wonder if they will start on the late night 6's soon?
At the minute I see tridents & scanias regularly appearing on late nights multiple times a week. 4604 is on tonight.
Local Routes
94/95, 11A/11C, 28.

Because they are running almost twice as many buses as chargers, by running the electrics in early it allows two buses to charge on each charger. YW is too tight to do shunting around at 01:00.

Once there's a charger for each bus they can do any running board

Was this even true? I mean electroliners will definitely suit the fleet. Hopefully after franchising they're required to have more electrics, just look at Manchester and London!

No shock about hearing the Acocks green and Wolverhampton rumour, but will NX meet the deadline earlier, if franchise is expected or at least spoken about to start in 2027? The franchise doccument claim the diesels will stay on until their lifetime is over, however, isn't the 5 deemed to be an issue if Electroliners come to AG? Unless the 5 goes yardley wood? The robin hood bridge seems to be lower than the Electroliner height is I presume?

I wrote that article in December 2023. The key word to consider is 'rumours'.

The article was presented speculatively, not stating facts. Of course, plans change and things go wrong.

Will YW be losing any buses as a result of this?
If so which ones?

So what you're telling us is to take your blog with a pinch of salt, similar to other speculative pieces such as Birmingham Live!
