Quote from: Ronnoc on May 07, 2025, 10:41:20 PMI believe most of the 130 electrics on order will be for Black Country garages, but the routes are uncertain. I would guess the WN1 and WB74 would be potential candidates for those new buses.
I'm sure since route branding is slowly becoming a thing of the past and that (going off Yardley Wood), Electric buses would more than likely be used on all double decker routes.
Local routes: 19/20/20A/27/39/39A/49/55/63/145/202

QuoteI'm not sure how the 12's and 13's are more high profile than the 74, these services are all every 30 minutes without their combined frequencies. The 74, 80, 82/87 as well as the (4)5(1) have always been WB's core services.
Well said, the 12/13s aren't the priority, it's the main money maker routes that are. Id assume the 74 is the main one as the 82/87 has got platinums, with the 80 getting platinums from Perry Barr. 74 meanwhile has the e400s since 2014

Quote from: Sh4318 on May 08, 2025, 12:37:03 PMThe 12s/13s have never had the highest priority. It's frequently allocated the oldest single decks in the fleet, more doubles are needed for the Portland Road section of the route, but other routes need deckers on every part of the route

The Soho Road and Dudley Road are particular busy and important corridors, the later got new buses 6 years ago and prior to that, refurbished (at the time) 8 year old buses were branded for it

The influx of platinums onto the 80 suggests that this route isn't too far behind the main two
you're right, 12/12a/13/13a are commonly allocated the scanias frequently, it would be ideal to have DDs because that route can get busy, especially at peak times.

the 80 bus from west brom to birmingham always has deckers, as that route has high priority on the portland road corridor being quite a rather busy route, i've personally been on that route to birmingham and you can tell. the amount of platinums that go on there suggest that it's not too far behind the main dudley road and soho road routes

more doubles are needed because 12/12a/13/13a need additional capacity to be available so more people can use it at busy times.

electric buses would also be ideal for the portland road corridor as that way there would be less emissions being emitted

right... Still think the 12 / 13 can only have deckers at peak, they got 4771-4775, alongside with the platinums now unbranded they aren't restricted. Still don't think it should be 100% decker though, there's routes like the 74 which are in need of new buses. And this emission thing is just dragging it now

The 12s and 13s needed deckers for years but it seemingly suffers from more Scanias than ever

NX74 ZEB is currently on loan from Alexander Dennis to Reading Buses (will not be used in service)

Yes omnilinks seem to be a real problem on the 12 they break down frequently and really struggle up hills.

I've never known an omnilink struggle up hills, and they are no worse for breakdowns than other buses

well sending it elsewhere means they can run it into the ground while assessing it then hand it over as a pile of junk, it happened before, back in the day 3068 went to central on loan, when it went back to AG it was heap. 1830 / 6830 went to YW when it came back it was so unreliable drivers of ten refused to take it, it got downhraded from a DP

Tony's post says it will not be used in service at Reading Buses, so how do you figure that one out? And who says it is now coming to NXWM....
