The 243/244 & 276 already interwork on Sundays anyway don't they?  ??? (I'm not familiar with the interworking, so that is a genuine question). If so how would the 243 being operated by Diamond affect this? It would just mean every other 276 would interwork with the 244 at Dudley, and the other 276 would stay as the 276.
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters

No, on Sundays currently the 243/244 interwork at Dudley, and the 276 operates by itself. The interworking between the 243/244 & 276 is only on Monday-Saturday evenings. That is what I suggested, alternate 276s interworking with the 244 at Dudley, and is more than likely what will happen.

Oh I see. Either way, there will be more than enough buses to operate both services separately. I imagine the layover time for the 244 at Dudley would be quite large

Yes, about 50 minutes. Operating both services separately would require 7 vehicles, interworking the 244 and 276 would require 6 vehicles, this saves one vehicle being out and therefore saves on fuel, vehicle wear, etc.

A bit off topic, but has a Trident ever appeared on the 53/289 or 120?  :-\

Tridents have so far been reported on the 9, 140, 141, 222, 241, 243, 244, 246 and 276, so as far as I know, no.

Don't forget the X96 ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomsbusphotos/9611381386/ )

All opinions and onions mentioned on here are mine and not those of any employer, current, past, present or future, or presented as fact, unless I prove it otherwise.

I did hear a rumour about the Pershore Road getting upgraded to Enviros, but that wasn't rumoured to happen until next year.. I would think the Sutton Lines would be upgraded sometime in the near future
the pershore routes are getting facelifted E400,which aren't out yet, and simon said that it might not be the sutton lines

So them common sense portrays to me, that if B7's are to come from BC if the 98 goes DD operated, they would replace the mercs currently in use at PE, but then does that mean that the X96 would see a new branding as its only just been branded on the mercs ?

And to keep fleet numbers together BC will probably send 214* & 215*'s to fit in with 2154 :)

What is the PVR of the 98, its not that high surely?

I'm not sure Stu I'm guessing 10 but it could be more :)

I believe the daytime vehicle requirement is either 7 or 8 (depending on layover time in Rubery), not sure if there are any peak extras.

Unless the trees on Wheeleys Road are given a haircut the 98 can't be converted to double deck as someone could get decapitated. I'll keep my eyes peeled as I do travel along there quite regularly.

If we are to loose Mercs I do hope rather than just withdraw the R reg Mercs because they are 'older' PE will have a say in the ones withdrawn on a condition basis as its actually the newer ones that seem worse to me, had 1704 on the 276 Monday, horrendous, and 1705 seems to be endlessly suffering problems along with others I'm sure

I agree, they should pick from the worst of the non-refurbished R/S & T-reg Mercs

It will be the worst Mercs that go, whether they determine the 'worst' by interior/exterior condition or performance remains to be seen

Book values will play a part in the decisions as well
