1543 has taken up residence in Bordesley garage
http://wmbusphotos.com/NXWM/1515-1743/1543.html
It's parked next to the skip, but I don't think it has been binned! Appears to be there for some new flooring

That's a good sign that it will be around for a while longer, looks a very tidy bus in general.

I think in general, the earlier Mercs seem in better condition than the later ones do.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

I just rode 1540 on the 244 and it was absolutely flying along, fast and some good over-revs too, possibly the best Merc at PN

Noticed yesterday that 1645 is still on the casualty list at PE, having sat in exactly the same place at the garage for well over a week. Now has a red sticker in the middle of the drivers window.

I saw it being driven around the yard by an engineer Fri afternoon

The red sticker means nothing other than it shouldn't go out the garage. This isn't a casualty

Where is the red sticker in this one? Is it the little dot in the top left of the windscreen?

No Matt. Look in the middle of the windscreen where the yellow vest is.

Ahh! Got it thanks.

The red stickers I always see on bus windscreens are dots about the size of a 5 pence coin and are usually on the right hand side (doors side)

Same here. We all know the Do Not Move / Do Not Start stickers.

We're on about this tiny red dot by the tax disc corner.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Bordseley seems a very strange place for it to end up, any reason why?

Just got off 2086 which has it in the lower corner of the windscreen, by the doors

Sorry I didn't phrase that very well, I read the bit about the new flooring what I meant to ask was why is that something that is being done at Bordseley garage and not say Walsall or even at Pensnett and seems quite a big job for on of the early Mercs to be having done,
