Hope so. I was lucky enough to be able to travel on two Metrobuses on the #558 on Monday, having booked the day off. Nostalgia all the way :)

As it only runs during school hours I won't ever be able to travel on the 558 again, but it would be nice for the enthusiasts in Wolves/Dudley area who can

You beat me to it - just seen a Green Bus Metrobus leaving the bus station on rail replacement. Too quick a glance to spot which exactly. I've got some train travel planned this weekend, so will hopefully be on one, a Metrobus I hope.

If 109 turns up, wait for the next one... you'd probably arrive first on the next one anyway, it's that slow! ;)

On VOSA this morning Greenbus appear to be cancelling their  558 services from 20th May,

PD1090982/21 - THE GREEN BUS COMPANY LIMITED T/A THE GREEN BUS, 386 PARK ROAD, HOCKLEY, BIRMINGHAM, BS18 5ST

Cancellation Accepted: Operating between Wolverhampton City Centre and Dudley Town Centre given service number 558 effective from 20-May-2013.

Perhaps Green have given up on the 558 as now NXWM have their own new green buses on the route and i have never seen the 558 that well used.

Shame though, will miss the ex TWM metrobuses.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

I said from the start that the NX Hybrids on the 1 would bring the demise of Green Bus on the 558! But what will happen to the surplus staff/buses if it is withdrawn?

Perhaps a new route/s are being planned, or maybe an increase of vehicles on the 50/A, although that's busy enough as it is

Aren't there rumours that King Edward College are going to be served by Green Bus from September, maybe those services will run all day like the Halesowen College services from Prospect Coaches.

They are according to this http://www.thegreenbus.co.uk/bus_services/school/schools/13-14/

And running some Stourbridge college services, which potentially could be out, if not all day, most of the day and I firmly believe they will do very well, in part due to NXWM's neglect of Stourbridge services, in particular the 246. I was a student in Stourbridge for 2 years and the 246 was a nightmare, when the Enviro's first arrived they were at least 5 or 6 on the 246 but when BC stopped helping in the peaks they became unusual workings

Yes the 558 and 64 are to be withdrawn on may 20th, for reasons as yet unclear, possibly to do with these additional college services starting in september, most of their drivers havent got a clue about the withdrawals as yet either

The 558/64 have Probably been withdrawn due to low passenger numbers

I don't live or usually go to birmingham so i don't know about the loadings of the 64,

What are the passenger numbers like for the 64 on average.
