20:20 from Halesowen was BU05 HFT, 21:20 was W228 DNO with its duct tape window

Both left almost exactly on time

Surely if VOSA had visited, W228DNO should be either off the road or repaired?

My thoughts as well Winston!!

They could have kept it out of the garage when VOSA were there. I think Centro know about being on one of their tendered routes tonight

Surely VOSA are likely to make a return rather quickly to do another check?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Hadn't considered that, but if VOSA had visited & found numerous serious defects on 5 vehicles wouldn't they track down & inspect the rest of the fleet that was in service at the time of visit, especially on a fleet of that size or alternatively turn back up in the evening when the majority of buses returned from service

TBH, I would have thought with problems on 5 vehicles and a number plate issue with another, that VOSA should have suspended all the operating licences and told VIP to get their fleet in order, and then do a 100% check on the fleet before licences are handed back?

Although the position of the centro notices on the windscreen and the mark on the bumper at the very bottom underneath the drivers side headlight look remarkably similar to those on PAN58R last week!

Hm... I'm struggling to spot the difference but even the mirrors are the same.

Not another number plate change surely?

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

The other Trident 'T816 RFG' has purple around the destination display, where this one doesn't

It does or did, that photo was back in June and it could have been removed. Also if you look at that photo T816RFG had no marker lights to the upper deck at that time.

Also the nearside skirts on the Tony's second photo of T804RFG show them being replaced with flat panels instead of East Lancs skirts, and amazingly the photo of JAZ5976 has exactly the same skirts

Well just look at all those differences on the JAZ 5976 pictures.

Two completely different buses. No chance all those small changes could happen.

How can the front bumper be square and proper on the 7th June, and now its all twisted and battered? And non purple surround? Odd.

I am surprised Birmingham Council let these cowboys this brilliant operator run their special contracts (looking at the destination display on the pic of JAZ5976 (T816RFG)

Hmm, that's not the same JAZ5976 that I photographed on 27th September!

Just a thought guys, are u aware vip is ran by thandi?? I booked a coach with them when vip first started, they passed me though to midland coach hire i think it was called, and they guy who i spoke to wanted 700 quid. Paid a 200 deposit thru pay pal, which was paid to thandi, we cancelled never recived the deposit back apart from a rather nice email from an email address using thandi on,
Didnt they go bust or stop trading for some reason???
Wouldnt mind a 10 min bus service....

I fail to understand the need/reason behind swapping the reg plates over  :-\

You have one vehicle with a valid MoT/Tax but is not drivable. You have another vehicle out of MoT/Tax but drivable. You swop the plates and you have a drivable vehicle that shows on DVLA by registration checks as fully legal even though it probably couldn't pass an MoT or isn't taxed

Steveminor

Makka what you will probably find is that VIP hadn't got enough coaches themselves to fullfill your booking so they sub contracted Thandi to do the work.
What a lot of you guys probably don't know is that Mel Kang donated the ex AMPM buses to VIP free of charge "what a nice guy he is" & regularly goes there to "help" out around the office. I guess he has too much spare time since he is banned from holding an I licence & his plan to gain one by proxy in bham travel failed.
