Changing the subject slightly, I am surprised at the number of Tridents that appear on the 29, even on late nights too. As the Harborne routes operate the 13 plate Hybrids, I would have thought any non Hybrid buses would be of similar age (ie Enviro 400s or Single deck 21xx).
There are plenty of spare E400, yet almost daily there's at least a couple or more Tridents on the 29.

Any old bus seems to get chucked onto the 29 to be honest.
Local Routes: 002, 39/39A, X21, 46, 76.
Localish Routes: 18, 23, X22.

@Bham Central Driver with potential ex PB enviro 400s coming which would fit well the batches. Do you think they would upgrade the 61/63 with them to work with the platinums of the X61 if I had to choose between a 16 year old Trident and a brand new bus I would go for the latter

With our current Platinums going and replaced with a slighly larger batch I would suspect that a few 41s would go. However if we get some or all of the ex PB Enviros then there should be more 41s going. I would imagine 2117 and 2119 would go to PL too.
If we were to have all of the PB Enviros that would mean BC would have 4895 - 4949 inclusive which is quite a large batch of similar aged buses, personally I would have thought it better to stagger these out by giving some ex PB ones to other garages.

Pretty sure that it has been said that 4914-39 are not going to the same garage

I reckon some of the ex PB E400's will go to WB to replace a quantity of Presidents, there won't be many garages that can take Y-reg Tridents after May next year.

Wonder if it may be better for the company to sell some off while they are still reasonably tidy?

That's an option, as all the current double deckers expected to be withdrawn over the next 12 -18 months i.e. Presidents & early Tridents can be sold on for further service to smaller operators, if their condition allows. It's not like previous attempts of trying to sell unpopular / uncommon types such as B6LE's / B10L's & Merc 0405N's
