Will these new service even need double deckers im sure single deckers on some of them will provide enough capacity. A mad idea would be transfer the 20 omnilinks being debranded from the 404 back to West Brom and transfer the 404 service which will be the 4 service back to WB and operate it using mercs with the now 405/406 service transferring back to Walsall and the now 401/2 going to Pensnett and being interworked with driver changes at Dudley when the 402 is extended from Tipton to Dudley.

But then the 404 (4,4H & 4M) passengers revert back to 13 & 14 year old Mercs, mostly non refurbished

That is an issue but when the next batch of new single deckers are delivered the 404 could be then first in line, also im sure i read somewhere a while ago the 404 was only upgraded to omnilinks because at that time diamond upgrading their 404B/E/H service with new centro's so now they have gone back to the old darts. That could be untrue and maybe could of been in line for new single deckers anyway.

Is the 404 not a showcase route?

Ash

Yes but do showcase routes still exist or were they abandoned

Ashley

If they can put Presidents on the Outer Circle temporarily, then possibly they could put Mercs on the 404 or as I suggsted a while ago, put Presidents on the 404, decrease the frequency and send the Omnilinks to WB so they have buses that meet the emission requirements

Why decrease the frequency? That would give Black Diamond the opportunity to pick up more passengers

Ashley

Come to think of it, maybe a frequency reduction wouldn't be needed, maybe using double deckers might get more people onto the serviceas those Omnilinks do get packed out sometimes

There will be more than enough euro 3 compliant vehicles without crazy ideas needed, don't forget the 21 tridents spare from the Wolverhampton hybrids

Just a guess I can see b6s and b10s gone first

Ashley

I thought the hybrids were replacing the Spectras

What's going to happen on AG? Will they put the Geminis on the city routes and the Presidents on the Outer Circle?

Would have thought so for the meantime anyway

May be a big change around of routes to garages with the Sandwell review with WB taking on two of PBs current routes and PB having some of the new routes from Birmingham into Sandwell

This could mean the 16 returning to WB garage and may be something like the 101 going to WB as drivers could change in Handsworth, just a thought.

Anyone know which routes these are?

rumour has it at the garage the 101 and 16 are coming to a new outstation garage on kelvin way or kenrick way in west bromwich for when the lease on oak road expires in the next couple of months, so perhaps more geminis for WB? but nothing official yet.

we are being route trained on the new sandwell review routes at the minute and there has been no mention of perry barr taking on any of the routes
an empty bus is a happy driver.
