What's one route that gets used for new drivers at bc?

Isn't a set route anymore, you'll be placed where there's a need. If a driver joins with a PCV already there's normally a high chance that they will get the 14.

Is the 14 a nightmare to drive?

Never done it, but from other divers I've spoke to - it's a challenge along alum rock road but after that it's easy.

Quote from: GoldenSquid on August 24, 2023, 09:53:12 PMAs far as I know Bromford Rota used to be
60/X12/X13
then
X12/X13/X14
and will be
X2/X12/X13
So x2 drivers do the x12 and x13. And how does it work quite interesting

So some dutys are X2 on first part, break then either an X12/13 on the second part

  • Monday-Fridays daytimes every route works by itself for the most part
  • Saturday daytime X12/X13 interwork at Pirory Queensway
  • Sunday daytime X2/X12 interwork at Solihull Station

The duty I had yesterday was a late night duty, involved a full X12 trip, break trip on the X13 via Hams Hall

Back in day, it used to be the Pershore Road rota and the Cranes Park rota. Now, it is whatever there's a need. When I rejoined in 2022, I was placed onto the Bromford rota as there wasn't enough drivers on there.
When the 14 rejoined BC when the X14 went back, a lot of the new starter drivers were placed onto that rota as we were short on drivers.

There was a time where certain rotas were sacred, like the Coventry rota (X1/X2) as only old timers or anyone with over 2 years of service could get on it.

Sorry if this has been said already I'm new. Where is 4887? Hasn't been in service since February

Thanks for the explanation, i never knew it would be like that but what routes would require 2 or more years experience!

The 18:12 X13 from Birmingham should be an electric tonight, E277

I think he means that some rotas are more popular than others and would have a waiting list to get on, with those that had been there longest given first option when a place became available.
