I remember when GTA 3 came out, and I discovered the bus vehicle, I soon began to create my own routes around the city, in the bus, I've done it on GTA vice city and GTA IV, did anyone else do this?
I will confess it was a guilty pleasure
Ditto lol I used to like doing it on the getaway lol

The Getaway: Black Monday. The single deck buses in it sound like the NXWM Geminis! Sounded like a hoover.
Lol to true think they supose to be optares

Lol same here.
Even more so when I got my hands on Vice City which allowed you to pick up/drop off passengers at the stops dotted around the city.
I've also spent many an evening playing The Getaway games, just driving around London stopping at bus stops while driving either a Routemaster or an Optare Delta. ;D
Shame the new getaway game been cancelled from the demo on YouTube the routemasters look spot on, demo on YouTube
Does anyone remember the routes they created?
Their were so many lol on getaway I used to do two similar routes and interworkvthem and I did a outer circled style one round the game boundries
8), I tried to re-create the 504/A/505/506/507/A (pendeford circluar)
Algonquin (Fishmarket South) - Algonquin (Star Junction) - Broker (Bus Station) - Algonquin (Fishmarket South) (Clockwise)
Algonquin (Fishmarket South) - Broker (Bus Station) - Algonquin (Star Junction) - Algonquin (Fishmarket South) (Anti-Clockwise)
Maybe a bit longer than the pendeford circular was :-[

Here are some routes that have been created by a bus enthusiast group called LTA, they play GTA IV and come up with some bus routes, and give quite logical reasons as to why they've created the route:-
http://libertytransitauthority.wordpress.com/consolidated-old-files/current-routes-charters/
The ones I remember doing within The Getaway games:
- A circular around the outer roads of the entire map.
- A circular of just the map to the south of the river.
- Hyde Park Art Gallery via Oxford Street to either that square in Shoreditch where the boxing club is or Liverpool Street Station.
- Tower Hill to Belgravia Square/Victoria via the Embankment and Westminster.
Sometimes I would even drive a car from a residential tower block to an area where the buses could be found, park up, find a bus, take control of it and start my shift. ;D
have none of you guys played omsi bus simulator????? if not your seriously missing out lol
Glad Im not the only one! I must confess I recreated the 2[Hove Beach-Tudor]/3[Hove Beach-Castle Gardens Bus Lane]/3A[Hove beach-Castle Garden City] on Gta4, I can still remember them too :P interworking at Hove Beach lmfao! Yes I am an Omsi regular too, infact I make a lot of local repaints (Plenty of NXWM) and general mods for the game! :) I'd also say anyone not playing it is missing out, much better than any laggy TML crap! Takes some getting used to though!
Where can you get omsi and for what console

Omsi is the king of bus simulators. I've got it. A simple search on YouTube will show how excellent it is. It's still fairly new so not many vehicles but the degree of realism is epic. The O405N is identical to the NXWM examples and is my favourite vehicle in the game.
Just checked it out on YouTube, looks Awsome

I'm with you Michael, drive the 0405N regularly, just a shame there's not a single door version, I presume the middle version, the City, is the equivalent to the NXWM one? If you understand me as there's three different gearboxes and tuning available,
The D87s kind of remind me of Tridents :P The Merc is nice, but the sounds just seem off to me. You might be interested to know that an Enviro 300 is currently being developed :)
8) I also tried to re-create the 2/3/3A
I think mine was:-
- 2 - Fishmarket South - Lancaster via Star Junction & Middle Park
- 3 - Fishmarket South - Alderney City (Bus Station) via Star Junction & Middle Park
- 3A - Fishmarket South - Alderney City (Boyden Avenue) via Star Junction & Middle Parl

There's also a Hong Kong Enviro500. Similar dash as a UK Trident and it is left hand drive and comes with a modified Grundorf City where the traffic is like UK.
The regional O405N sounds more like our ones with the right gearbox sounds and speed pickup, whilst the other two are slower.
Hmmm yeah I'm not too keen on the Enviro 500 if I'm honest, It was interesting at first but now it just seems shoddy! I might have another play with the Merc later and see what I can do!

I did on The Getaway Balck Monday when I had a PS2
I still do on GTA IV 8)

I tend to stick to playglobe, (as the owner of aussiex is a bit of a stuck up pompous tit) I'll gladly share them with anyone who wants them but they might not be the best about!

Would love your repaints trident, all the links on Playglobe always seem to be either down or removed so is there an alternative way you can share them? Even email if there not too big
Yeah, inter working routes is a must for GTA :)
I just wish they could allow you to make your own routes, and stops that people would get on and off at, and having other buses driving the same route would be a nice touch... Or am I asking too much :o

Ha, I have gta iii for my iPad. It's great
The hardest decision when following a bus route is deciding whether to use the bus or the coach
The bus, design wise could be a lot better.
But the coach handling is ridiculously tight

even thou i perfer proper bus simulators like omsi, gta vice city was good as for every passanger who came on you got a fiver lol
Haha travel vicecity was expensive lol
Vice City was the best, driving around picking up fivers at every stop with Flash FM on ;)

Hehe On the PC Version I'm sure it'd be possible for a techy to make a patch like that, they have certainly made a "virtual police" mod for gta4 with authentic police radios and proper emergency missions on like gta3 style, not just the most wanted! I'd imagine some kind of bus mod would be possible but I dont think things like bus stops are programmed in on 4 so it would take a long time and a very patient programmer! As for the consoles I doubt it would ever happen tbh! The new gta's seem to be lacking in things like that (Things to do once all the missions are complete!)

I'm about to do a big update on playglobe with all improved NXWM liveries and seating patterns, and some other local ops (Green bus, Midland etc.) so in a few days there should be some up to date links appearing ;)
waheyy looking forward to it mate
GTA V on Tuesday, Videos on youtube show buses with people on so could well be a fully functional bus system again! :D

Looks good. Shame its the same generic American Transit crud.
Hmmm although if it helps, some of the buses should be different colours :P
I started a thread about this before 8) I've attached my list of routes I came up with on GTA IV, probably a bit over-detailed but what the hell! :)
GTA V does have different coloured buses, there's green, blue and orangey-red and then I've found a few with adverts on the side that display the airport as the destination not Downtown. I've already managed to make about 10 routes on there too. :)
Blimey your fast, I'm still trying to learn the roads!

Look forward to it, that list above is quite impressive :P not sure how far you've got with the missions yet but there is a bus driving mission although you only get about 4 stops, still if the functionality is there maybe in the future, or even when the PC version comes out it might be an easy mod to make... :P Purely being nosey here but you an xbox or ps3 guy? :P

Shame haha, yeah don't expect too much It's about 1 minute worth of driving!
I wish there was a mode when you make up bus routes and pick up and drop off passengers at bus stops ::)
