Does anyone know what the loadings are like on the 50A?
Usually the service around 5pm I see every day is quite full and virtually empty at say 10am

Green Bus 558 Dart of official diversion in Dudley this morning trying to get up St James's road which is totally unsuitable for buses, especially at that time in the morning, this isn't the only stupid bit of driving I've seen on the 558, hope someone has a word otherwise this operator is bordering on being a little cowboyish which is a shame.

Ashley

I got on a Lance on the 558 yesterday afternoon and my word it was quick, mind you i was actually shaking a little, good job for those chunky handrails lol

TinnedPeaches

Speaking of their 558 service, I'm beginning to wonder if it's profitable to be worth being run. I pass a couple of the Caetano Nimbuses every morning on my way in to Wolverhampton and it's rare to even see one or two passengers on it. Plus passengers waiting at bus stops (between 7.30 and 8 when I'm normally on the road) are standing back from the kerbside when their buses approach, presumably as they have NXWM passes.

I don't use the 558 so can't say but the 64 seems to be well used when I see it. Their single Decker Dennis Dart I saw in Selly Oak going towards Rubery was nearly full.

I don't use the 558 but it runs across the top of my road and I only see pensioners on it, there's usually a few 'pramfaces' get on it at burton road (at the stop that leads to the wrens nest) towards dudley. But they must make some money otherwise I think they would have cancelled it.

I caught a Green 558 on Tuesday morning and was surprised at the amount of people that caught it, mostly fair paying taking advantage of the £1 fare. However there were complaints that it was not a step free bus and there was no room for pushchairs unless you folded them!
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Its the Lances I see on the 558 on the days im out but there are a fair few fare payers making the most of the low fares and quick running time

On the Green Bus 558 page it is reported that this Saturday 10th November 558 will be run by 4 of their Metrobuses, potentially one of the last times to ever ride a Metrobus in normal standard fare paying role in the West Midlands as surely with all Green Bus's latest additions the Metro's haven't got long left. Ex-WN Metro 2989 will be running also, back on its orignal stomping ground. Should be a good day, I'll definetly be out in the morning.

Ashley

Well thats my saturday sorted haha :D

Rowan Telmac have Green Bus Trident 121 on their stand at Euro Bus Expo (assume it was another ex Abellio London one), it has been converted to single door & refurbished to a high standard/spec with seat belted leather seats (American school bus style)
