823 is spending it's first full day in service in WB on the 40.

I wonder, is it now going to become west brom's lone wanderer? Will we start seeing it on routes like the 83/89, 74/75, 48 etc...?
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

God forbid it gets on the 74/75 - it'll get full in 2 minutes and wrecked in 4  ::) ::)

Having said that if I were a bus company I wouldn't want new buses on those routes. Many hundreds of thousands of pounds will be ruined. For instance, you wouldn't give free lifts to scum using a Bugatti Veyron. You'll use eldery buses instead. ;)

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Yes., 824 is starting to be all over the shop with it, no longer branded, being on the X96 today.

Its heading Stourbridge bound ex Merry Hill at the moment

I remember seeing 824 on the 297 back in February with its 222 branding

This is probably going to be worst suggestion ever made on here, but wouldn't it make more sense transferring the 222 to West Bromwich garage and operate it from there where there are 14 enviro 200's allowing the 222 to be permanently enviro 200 operated where currently at Pensnett there is one spare vehicle but if two enviro 200's are off the road then a b6le or merc will have to cover. WB have operated the 636 before and that went no where near West Bromwich so there would just be dead mileage between Dudley and West Bromwich when running to and from the garage so may be a few 74E or 121 working to cover this. In return the 45 could be transferred to Walsall with the b6le's leaving room for the 7 enviro 200's from Pensnett.

Not a bad suggestion but I think it would make more sense to purchase more E200 and upgrade the 243/4 and possibly the 297.

Would that be another 11 or 12 required?

9 for 243/4 and 5 for 297 so 14 plus spare if you take into consideration the 222 pvr of 6 then you will need 20 e200 for service plus one spare (824) plus one spare if 243/4 and 297 upgraded. So a purchase of 15 would be enough to upgrade the routes.

Also if the 17 remaking enviros at perry Barr were to transfer then the 246 and X96 could be upgraded leaving 2 running cards requiring a B7rle of which there are 4 spare so 2 late night boards could use the b7

I think more E200's or B7RLE's at PE is quite likely, still don't think PE will see the PB Enviros for upgrading the 246 & X96, but I'd be more than happy to be proved wrong.....

There will 16 remaining at PB once 4736 finally moves across to WA, i.e. 4698 & 4718-4732

But isn't the 222 better at PE as its closer to it (Pensnett only 5 minutes away from half of the route) compared to West Bromwich.

Plus with the limitations of space that WB have, they would probably have to transfer another route to PE to compensate.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).
