There were at least 7 on there 1520 1525 1593 1631 1640 1665 1743

Also 4346 is on the 276 (and one 243 trip) this evening so must've swapped from the 53/289

Saw 1553 going through Netherton high street on the 276 yesterday afternoon, had to double take!

It seems the 244 and 276 were on diversion yesterday afternoon/evening, following the 243's line of route from Dudley to Netherton then resuming normal line of route.

Wonder why that is?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Does Pensnett have the capacity to take those routes on or are they doing the odd journey?

I wonder if Pensnett will be operating services on Boxing Day, and maybe helping out with some West Brom routes?  ::)
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Perhaps in near future 74/87 will be split with wb?

Had a quick look at the garage about 7pm tonight, obviously lots of the buses had come in for the night, did notice a group of about 6 B7s in the corner and in the far corner a TWM Merc and a NXWM Merc. Does anyone know which Mercs these are? Is that the dead box?

53 had lots of Tridents yesterday, they were justified though.

I don't see how it can be justified other than for the odd board against the 246

it appears the allocation for the 53/289 are mainly tridents now (Not really needed on the 289 atleast but has to have them as you know due to interworking with the 53) as there are usually at least 4 reported most days now.

What are the 53 loadings like as i have only used the route once (On a Merc) and was fairly quiet

Ashley

The 53/289 only really need deckers on the school board. If the 289 was on its own a good chunk of the time, B6's would be adequate (I know PE don't have them now).

The 53 I think varies by day, maybe the extra capacity is a christmas thing. It's still odd seeing a trident in places such as oldbury

Sh4318

289 could do with extra capacity at peaks, Mercs get full from Oldbury to Blackheath
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Most used routes in bold

The loadings on the 53 are similar to those of the X96 and 276 on Saturdays, weekdays are a bit quieter, maybe is just a seasonal thing.

The Tridents are wasted on the 53/289, they would be much better utilised on the 140/241 and 120. I caught Enviro 4820 on the 289 from West Brom yesterday and there were no more than 5-10 people onboard, only 2 others by the time I got off in Blackheath. The 53 does get a bit busier but only really at the Merry Hill end of the route, and even then a Merc suffices.
