I think I saw 4, 4196, 4202, 4350, but cannot remember what the forth was

Other than a few school journeys, I didn't think the 53 was busy enough to warrant double deckers

There are two boards that depart PN after 7 am so those vehicles may have become available late

I remember in the late 70s, early 80s, the 450 was decker operated, although it was never overly busy. And to be honest the 123 part of the route was never that busy.

Even in the '90s it was double decker operated. In the early '00 it was Metrobus and b6le, and the 448 was Metrobus - Monday to Saturday and B6LE - evening and Sundays, how times change ::)
