Boxing Day 2012 suggests WB had a few PE routes on their displays. Whether this is still the case though...

That was because WB operated PE routes to try and have a little garages open as possible

4135 on the 297 at teatime.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Once again, along the theme of double-deckers on the 297, ADL Enviro 400 on the route today. Why are they suddenly using d/d's on it?

The journeys are on a 9 running card!

Is the 276 the only route not allowed DD now? Quite ironic its the 297 getting them all now though of course it doesnt have the Old Hill Bridge to contend with anymore.

i think so, strangely the 297 doesn't need deckers especially now it only runs between Merry Hill & Dudley!

Frustrating when I see some 276 services with people having to stand up! I presume it is all down to the overgrown trees in Norton still? Might just have to wait till Autumn when all the leaves fall off until they can go back on... lol.

The deckers have got to go somewhere, I guess :-\
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters

Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Most used routes in bold

Would have thought that NE may be thinking about curtailing the route at Stourbridge so deckers can be reintroduced on it, and having a single decker route around Norton & Wollaston.

After all this problem will recur every year!

Indeed, doesnt make much sense that the 276, one of the busier routes in the area is restricted because of a few 'overhanging branches' in Norton. Though wasnt the 294/5 taken off due to low patronage so would there be reluctance to start a new route in that part? Certainly between Pedmore and Dudley, the route can get very busy. It can be notably busy quite well into the evenings too, sometimes more than the 141 etc ive noticed.

Stuharris 6360

well the 294/5 used to run 1/2 hourly each route, surely hourly each route would only use 1 bus and if the route(s) aren't that busy, then that should suffice!

Agreed, even though such frequencies aren't usually to NXWM's taste, someone else would would probably have a go!

Sometimes especially near the peaks some 276 journeys could probably contend a 15 minute freq esp if single decks are only used. Though the 20min freq suffices much of the time. It is very noticeable though if one bus gets late, then it can become very full.

I'm surprised diamond didn't get in on the act with the 293/294/295 as a Stourbridge signature with the 142
