Ah, I see, there were also 6 other dennis tridents on the 255, including the one I was on, 4541, I actually wasn't expecting to see any.
Do the 255/256 interchange at Wolverhampton? and/or does the 256/257 interchange at Stourbridge?
There was also a merc on the 27

The 255 doesn't interwork with the 256 anymore, when it reaches Merry Hill I believe it becomes a 255E and then heads back to Wall Heath and terminates at Blaze Park, it then returns to Merry Hill as a 255E then becomes a full 255 and returns all the way back to Wolvo and repeats the pattern.

The 256 and the 257 do interwork at Stourbridge, a bus will start at Wolvo as a 256, head to Stourbridge, become a 257 to Dudley, then a 257 to Stourbridge and then a 256 back to Wolvo again.

The 255 has been completely Trident operated since the start of this year when 4135, 4305-9, 4313 and 4327 transferred into WN.  Spectras, Mercs and Excels are normally only used in an emergency.

WN Merc 1677 was on the 255E this afternoon

wilmotm (Matt Wilmot)

In Dudley bus station today and in the number 1 queue there were quite a lot of conversations that could be overheard of people complaining of the number 1 seeing too many "tiny buses" i.e. Excel's and this presumably meant that for example a couple of number 1's left Wolvo this evening with instructions to either not pick up passengers till Sedgley or not pick up passengers after Sedgley this meant that there were a couple of Trident's and a Spectra entering Dudley displaying Not In Service with passengers on board having travelled from Wolvo. Strange indeed!

I don't think 1843 is a rare working, PB only have 3 leather seated omnilinks.
