Have I missed the renumbering of the X6 to the X3?

We complained that people would think that the X6 would be a fast bus to Walsall, so it is now the X3

Perhaps there's long term thinking in this, if the 902 becomes X3 and NOT the X6, then maybe there is future thinking for maybe a X6 on the Stratford Road. The uses of numbers of X3, X4, X5 and X14 shouldn't be a problem because I can't see platinum or express routes on 2, 3 or 14 in the future

Its taken 10 years plus to bring back the timesavers, used to love the cushy seats.

There would be little point in any express/limited stop service along the Stratford Road, due to the nature of the road itself. Look at Johnson's X20, it is a limited stop service, but still gets delayed as it has to crawl through the same traffic, and overtaking opportunites are limited.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Why would people think the x6 is fast to Walsall, if non of the new numbering is universal yet ??

I do agree with you, but I was just making a point that the route number change from X6 to X3 was a forward thinking exercise.

Because between Sutton and Mere Green there would be a 6 and an X6

Drivers themselves have to ultimately put up with the grief so plus it helps clear any confusion

I see where your coming from but this road gets really snarled up in the peak. Also, a bus that doesn't make many stops, pickup or set down, doesn't make much profit.

Only had a quick look but it looked like the X3/4/5 had a matched frequency of every 6 to 7 minutes with the X14 on a separate timetable altogether. If they are combined it would be strange as the X14 doesn't share much of the common route of the other three.

As it is now in other words.

Arh forgot about that

The X1 timetable still hasn't been published yet even though the X2 was published days ago. Even though a possible increase in frequency on the Coventry Road (yeah right !!) was talked about, I don't think it will happen even though there is a variant to Coleshill Heath Road/Chester Road (I would expect the present 900E's to be doing this). If anybody is expecting and increase in frequency on the Coventry Road prepare to be disappointed. If anybody thinks or knows if I am wrong then convince me !!
