Would like to think the route change would be TGB making most of the ridiculous route changes from the 20th July seeing parts near Merry Hill and Old Hill without a decent bus service to Halesowen. I think TGB should leave Quarry Bank High st to Diamond and NXWM who clearly have the competition and frequency to out do TGB there. They should utilise areas now ridden of a decent service.

Indeed, a 52 week service is a must. With regards to Old Hill, its only Station Road on the present 297 route in Old Hill that is the issue isnt it? Just avoiding that and following the rest of it would make much more sense imo. Trying to compete with NXWM or Diamond on the present 002/141 stretch is just going to be a struggle for them. Its been stated on here often about the passenger number differences and its clear Diamond/NXWM have a foothold. TGB should look to vary their route I think and target now underserved areas. Im still in disbelief anyway that Q Bank High St really needs 10 or 12 buses an hour just towards Halesowen.

That's a bit of a surprise. On the Rotala board, Tony posted the results of the tenders and Diamond had won this. I did notice that Simon Dunn was being very cautious in commenting on the results on his management thread. Perhaps there's more to the process than I realise. My guess is that this is hourly, so would require only one bus. Combining the 60 and 61 to one bus an hour would save a journey to the town. Going via Matchborough West, then East to Winyates Green would cut out a large part of Paper Mill Drive. That would be a very roundabout route. Also no mention of Sainsburys, where the 61 goes presently. I wouldn't have thought it was decker territory.
