I wonder whether NX have stopped sourcing from Volvo/Wright full stop or whether an order will be placed for the new B8RLE?

Are they even still taking orders for B7RLE? A few dealer stock have been delivered of late but that's about it, First Group haven't ordered any for 2014/15

I'm not aware of anyone placing any orders for B8RLE yet either, has even a demo been produced yet?

As said it seems NX do like to keep their orders secret away from public view unlike other companies like First/Stagecoach who have announced this years orders

I guess it is just a case of us having to wait and see what is ordered. I 'm sure i read somewhere on here that orders have been placed? And that only one manufacturer is lined up? Unless its just me being half asleep.... ;D

To be fair, I don't personally see what the big secret is about NX not disclosing a breakdown of new vehicle orders, Stagecoach & First use it as a PR exercise to show how much they are investing & what types. NX haven't announced anything since the 2011 orders which was in the trade press, I never saw a stock exchange announcement.

The only thing that is commercially sensitive is what specific routes they are planning to upgrade with a new fleet, but again others are quite happy to announce a new fleet f buses is on order for route such & such.

I'd have though orders or production slots would have been placed/booked for sometime whilst specific types/quantities were decided, I should imagine most manufacturers are operating at capacity whilst Euro 5 buses can still be ordered & built

tbh I'm not fussed, aslong as I know it isn't Volvo, it could be Alexander Dennis, Scania or Optare and I wouldn't mind either way, however yes general Common Sense would say it will be Enviros.

I wonder if a batch of E200's does go to WA like it was stated on our garage tour? I can see WN possibly gaining a batch of new E200's to replace the B6's and any remaining Mercs (I think WN will have cascaded tridents to wipe out most if not all of their mercs). My thoughts are NX are sourcing just from ADL in this years order although that's just my guess work :)

I feel exactly like you, but for some reason E400s are very popular with a lot of operators.

In London for example, the Scania Omnicitys on the 205 are to be replaced by E400Hs, to me what a wate, the Omnicitys are only 5 years old.

Re the comment about the 205 getting new buses which is a waste when the Omnicities that are on the route at present are only 5 years old.

The new TfL contract for the 205 states new hybrid vehicles are to be used (as the Euston / Marylebone Roads have one of the worst air quality in London & the EU is going to fine London if it does not improve the air quality, so it is new buses or send money to Brussels, I know which I prefer).

Therefore Stagecoach has had to order new buses for the route. The Omnicities will replace the Tridents on the 277 at BW so that route benefits from newer vehicles as well and with various cascades eventually the oldest Tridents in the Stagecoach London fleet will leave the fleet. Whether some other part of Stagecoach will get them, or they will get sold on elsewhere, or they get a one way trip to Barnsley who knows?

This is exactly the same as the Sutton routes getting new E400s and the older E400 at PB going to YW, which then replaced older Tridents which were transferred to Pensnett to replace Mercs.

I'd have thought if WA do get some new vehicles to replace the remaining B10L fleet E300's would be the most appropriate for the 34, 38 & 39 at least
