51 left to do including these. 24 weeks left this year. Is around 2 per week feasible?

It's certainly not unrealistic; they shouldn't need any major re-panelling, only half the amount of seat to retrim / bodywork to repaint over a double decker

I reckon its more likely that the majority could get treated prior to the end of 2013, but a small quantity may see in 2014, it largely depends of whether any other routes are to be upgraded with refurbished buses

Correct me if Im wrong, but theres actually been some withdrawals of vehicles already in NX livery?

Wouldnt they been able to work out what was being kept long term & just repaint those vehicles?

They knew Metrobuses were not being kept, so those were not repainted, but who actually decides which particular vehicles to repaint?

There have been, I know a number of the old Volvo B10 midi-buses were re-painted, only to end up 18 months later in Miller Street.

The reasoning was I suspect partially down to presentation, partially down to the "Network Reviews" and a desire to have vehicles in new livery operating once the reviews had taken effect.  WMPTE however were experts at painting vehicles that were life-expired, in some cases painting vehicles in blue and cream in error which were due to go to a one way trip to Barnsley!!!

Talking of vehicles painting in error, NX Dundee have repainted/re-trimmed B10L 7138 in error which was actually due to be withdrawn

Well luckily 7138 is now in service until October which is when all B10Ls will be gone from the streets of Dundee (if everything goes to plan...)

You need to go right up this topic to June 9th when I reported it going in. The paint shop had finished it by 27th June when I photographed it in Walsall garage but was receiving mechanical attention

Yes Tony will do as YW garage sometimes undertake refurbs or repair major accident damage

John

About time 4229 was treated to a refurb.

Yardley Wood will be doing the refurb work for West Brom, then it will go to Walsall for repaint, and then back in service at West Brom
