This is a daily occurance, WB operate the 7:18 140 from Dudley, 8:20 140 from Birmingham, 9:23 241 from Dudley and 10:05 241 from Halesowen, with a Gemini or ALX400 (Geminis seem to be most common)

The same bus then goes onto the 74/75 I believe

Not any more (at least not officially). It is scheduled to go back to depot. As I'm sure you're already aware, it also operates the 0649 Blackheath-Dudley 140 journey as well.

I believe it was 4200 or 4201 that I saw today on the 53 and then it went on to the 289 afterwards  :o
I thought the bridge at Sandwell & Dudley Station means on single decker buses can be operated on the route?

No, doubles can fit under the bridge. ALXs used to appear every now and again on the 238

The story about the tridents on the 11 appears to be

AVL need an extra bus to fill gaps caused by traffic problems on the 11. BC have a bus spare that can be used. PB are the only garage with a driver available.

It is possible that when the PB driver picks up the BC trident PB then reprogramme the blinds so that it can be destinated properly, and BC put it back to normal when returned, which is why BC Driver and myself were unable to get 11 to show on BC buses

I don't know if this means that Acocks Green have got bus and/or driver shortages

No, doubles can fit under the bridge. ALXs used to appear every now and again on the 238

The 87 used to serve Sandwell & Dudley station at one time, so that bridge is very used to double deckers going under it.
