E008 on the 11A/11c this morning as a special treat for one of the longest serving drivers at AG who is retiring today

How long has this driver worked for NXWM and its predecessors? I had the absolute pleasure of co-hosting the NXWM Black Country Safe Driving Awards and presented a 45 year service award to a Walsall driver who used to drive my school bus in the 80s!(back in 2018 IIRC).

Good to see that there's still some longevity in the bus industry.

Wow, this is a phenomenal achievement. Was he a Birmingham Corporation or WMPTE new starter as he'd have been on the cusp I expect?

Rumours around that AG are to gain new services 41 & 46, interworking at QE Hospital.

41 Acocks Green to QE
46 QE to Hawkesley.

Due to commence in September. Any truth to this?

I've seen that. I should have been more specific lol. I've not seen any suggestion of this 46 service being operated by AG.

Useful place to "dump" non compliant B7 Deckers, if that's what the allocation will be.

Apart from the fact that these two services are showing as registered, and that it was confirmed by Steve Minor that the 41 would be covering a part of the revised 36 service, no-one else knows any more.

I would have thought it logical for AG to operate the 41 (as it replaces their 1A), with perhaps YW operating the new 46.

If the plan is to interwork the two services, I don't know why they didn't just combine the two together as one new service, Acocks Green to Northfield via QE Hospital.

If the 41 and 46 are both AG, then both routes will defiantly have Gemini 1s and ALX400 but YW should have 46 tbh

How do we know? Some singles could be displaced from the 4/4A for these routes, in exchange for some E400MMCs - replaced by non-complaint Gemini & ALX400s on the outer circle
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters

Unlikely, in my opinion. If the 41 is to serve Formans Road as previously suggested, sticking a full length single decker (especially 2201-2250 which have notoriously poor steering) on there is asking for problems. (Seen plenty of Claribels struggling with their Pulsars)

We know it's possible to use a decker because BC have operated deckers on the 36 before. The 1A at the moment is decker operated. We know there's a shortage of ULEZ compliant vehicles too. Logically the 41/46 will be ALX400/Gemini operated.

Beacause of the nature of the route the 32 is much better run by a Scania

I think it was said the 72 will be euro 6 from September as well? So that might take some MMC off the Outer Circle instead. Unless some euro 6 buses come from elsewhere.
.
If 46 is going to be run from AG though you could have ran it as a through 41 Northfield to Acocks Green as Stu said, 41 route then right of the Bristol Rd onto Edgbaston Park Rd, left Pritchatts Rd, left Vincent Drive, then as per current 48 Vincent Drive to Northfield?

You forgot the 58 too pal...

I mean if anything came worse to worse with Deckers than the 67** on the 5 could be swapped for Omnilinks and E200MMC's, especially if Formans Road is going to need Deckers as well as the 72 and 73 needing to be Euro 6, unless they go to full SD operation...

Strikes me that when theres no compliant Deckers left for the 5 is that E200MMC takes first choice instead of an Omnilink... when the MMC's do have to go round the island twice at the Sarehole Road junction at Sarehole Mill...
