Is there any further news as to when NXWM are going to vacate BC as reported last Spring? I remember suggestions at the time that it may be replaced by a couple of new locations rather than just one.

Just after 1pm, a 70 Birmingham Via Ward End spotted going into town near millennium point. Incorrect display or is there a 70 at this time of the day? Never noticed one before.

It's an error. The 70 is a school service now.

No there's not, usually one in the morning and one in the afternoon and both are normally tridents.
Can anyone confirm that the 70 be running from Ward End to Coleshill at 08:05am on the 18th Feburary, as I notice it has that journey non school days timetable? But wouldn't want to go and wait for it, to see that it's not operating that day?

Waited for a 23 by Baskerville House this evening, which tracked on the app (the generally reliable old version of the app) right up until it was showing as 'Due', then simply vanished off the face of the earth.

Can only assume it fell down a giant sink hole, like that bus in China.

Exactly the same thing happened again this evening, at a very similar time. Bus tracked until 'Due' then vanished again. Out of frustration I caught the 24 (6876) instead as it was freezing. The phantom 23 is continuing to track as being 1 minute in front, but it doesn't exist.

Bewildering.

it was a shortened day finishing at 12:30 at park hall academy so national express had to be informed hence the early service

The 23/24 branded buses seem to get around a bit. Is it fair to say that perhaps there's too many of them now since the 23 and 24 started interworking?
Similarly you get lots of non-branded buses on the Uni corridor as there isn't really enough since the ☓21 became included.
Local Routes: 002, 39/39A, X21, 46, 76.
Localish Routes: 18, 23, X22.

Not sure it's a case of there being too many 23/24 branded ones as you see quite a few of the generic branded Platinums on these routes daily. Plus the odd E400 and Trident. The Uni routes could definitely do with some more branded buses - 11 to go across all three routes is not a lot.

Good spot. So there are. I had a heavy night last night.

Gareth

At least 3 E400s on the 14 today. Not sure if they all are. Nice change 😃

Is that just until the Tridents get upgraded?

Nope, It's just what the booked type on the boards now. It's presumably implementing the same practice other depots have used for a few years now, use newer double deckers where possible on Sundays in place of older double deckers.

Although it probably explains why several E400's have started appearing on both the 14 & 97 during the week in recent times.
