I am interested in your sighting of Y176 NLK. Looking back, somebody reported a sighting of PVL176, which is indeed an X-reg. However, I have been told only one B7TL has arrived so far, and was told it is a Y-reg. The number 176 being in both reported vehicles seems too large a coincidence as well

I suspect it's a mis-report or a typo. Y176NLK was VPL176 with Metroline, whilst the PVL176 was an X-reg from Go-Ahead London

PVL176 is X576 EGK ex Go-Ahead

The sighting I have was by registration, so I suspect it is VPL176 not PVL176

Just an update, I have been told more B7TLs (adding to the 1 already in service) are due any time now, look out for them appearing on the St. Pauls and the Hagley services sometime soon.

The allocation of the Hagley routes is now 100% the East Lancs Volvo Olympians, which are just too small, with people standing particularly in the morning. Thandi simply can't register these as public bus routes as the vehicles used are not suitable, so they are not going to be able to sustain the pass prices past this year unless they get the ex Lothian Olympians on there

I thought you said that the Olympian/East Lancs were being returned to Ensign and replaced by the B7TL's? Is that still happening once sufficient B7TL arrive?

Yes that is the plan, once the B7TLs arrive. The B7TLs will still have nowhere near enough seats though!

Still not enough seats. 80 seat buses are needed for the Hagley services.

It makes you wonder why Thandi didn't buy some of these instead, no single door conversion required, only slightly older but can seat 80+

You'll probably find they've already been sold, Ensign seem to have a habit of not updating their website, the Olympians are still listed

I dunno, I'm pretty sure Dublin Bus were originally advertising for bids for taking 100 of them off their hands

Ah, I didn't realise that.

I wish I could phone Ensign up as I would be fascinated to hear what they have in stock!

Do you think they'd reply to an email from a curious enthusiast?

I've heard it's this weekend for the B7TL arrivals, but don't take it as gospel

Given that Ross Newman publishes the ins and outs every month, and is very accommodating in replying to any queries raised,  I would suggest it would be rather inconsiderate to make further demands on his time.
