I have been told Evergreen are returning the 4 East Lancs Olympians to the Isle of Wight and 8 low floor Y-reg double decker buses have been bought from London (presumably Tridents). The first one has already arrived and was apparently on the St Pauls services today.

The East Lancs Olympian's came from Ensign http://www.ensignbus.com/volvo-olympian-1998.html

The price they paid was £3k each, did they not think they had such a low price tag for a reason...

I think they are doing a part exchange with Ensign for the 8 Tridents

Exactly! You get what you pay for in this world.......

I am slightly confused by something it says, that single door conversion could add 11 seats

Most ex London buses have buggy zones opposite the rear door, these Presidents look like they have.

If these are only used on school services, the buggy zone could be filled with seats. Plus where the door was on the nearside. You may be able to get 2 rows on the drivers side, and 2, maybe 3 rows of seats on the nearside

They were new as H41/23D (64). Most had the three tip up seats removed for use in London making them H41/20D. Ensign are advertising them as 64 seat dual door, so with the tip ups reinstated or 71 seat single door, so only 7 extra seats.

A new Olympian has appeared on Hagley services today, R845 MFR. I thought someone said they only bought 4 East Lancs Olympians but clearly not

830, 831, 838, 841, 845 seen so far

Also the new B7TL is out on the St Paul's services daily with the others due soon

I asked a driver who said they had 6 or 7 of them. They're all going back soon though

Sorry, I thought someone had seen an X reg one as well. I haven't spoken to Mr Thandi for a couple of years. Catch him on a good day and he is really helpful, other days you just get told to clear off when you visit Alma Street.

Twice he has given me full access to the depot to find what vehicles he has and photograph the scrappers, but other days it is a 'go away'
