Do find it strange that 1690 - 2 were chosen to become driver trainers, surely it would have been better for 1543 & 1545 to become driver trainers and the younger Mercs to stay in service?

I though the same, as the latter Mercs have the built in wheelchair ramps and potentially have a few more years service left in them yet

maybe 1690,1691,1692 were chosen as they were newer ones having the built in ramp. so could stay in the training fleet. all the current lowfloor trainer vehicles have a manual ramp. thi way they have vehicles within the training fleet that trainees can learn to use all current variations. the other consideration is that these mercs are un referbished ones too

Is this a permanent transfer or a loan? As I thought AG were still short of buses, as they seem to still have 2122, and the allocations so far this week have been all over the place. Urban 2s on the 1, 5 and 31/A as well as the 37, which has had everything (including Presidents!) being used.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Sadly 1480 has been earmarked for withdrawal since august so it was inevitable it would be withdrawn soon

Intrigued.... why earmarked for withdrawal it seemed in decent condition when I was on it on the 28 (a while back), and saw it this morning on the 46
