Still branded for the Pershore Road then?  :)

Only on the rear. It must have carried a read ad, like most of the 461*'s did when branded, and the green branding was not taken off at the same time that the ad was removed.

In mid afternoon 4358 seen returning to Brum being towed by a Manston tow truck!

Looks like 1546 has moved from WN to PE, as it was on the 243/4 today: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nitromatt1/8589534923/in/photostream

Surely WN are nearly rid of most of their early Mercs now which will lower their average age even more

1546 was their last one, their oldest one is now T-reg 1650

Would have thought it was time for PE to start to withdraw some of there very early Mercs.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

You'd have thought so, particularly the un-refurbished ones still in TWM or early NXWM livery, unless PE are hopeful of gaining any more new/nearly new B7RLE from this years orders/subsequent cascades. Unless any have since been withdrawn following the arrival of 1546, PE's Merc fleet total currently stands at 52, which if I remember correctly is nearly as many B6LE they once had allocated

I certainly hope not as the oldest ones are the best ones, performance-wise at least, and they sound a lot better

The 15-- series/early 16-- series Merc's are on borrowed time, as they are not Diptac compliant (i.e don't have the built in wheelchair ramps)

The T/V reg mercs just sound healthier to me, still very good buses

Maybe it's just the examples I'm familiar with then, but (and Trident 4609 can back me up here :P) 1518 which we rode Saturday before last was flying up the hills on the 244, whereas 1665 which we had last Saturday was really struggling

Yes The T reg mercs struggled up the hill on the 244 near dudley whereas 1518 the week before did seem to get up the hill easier.

The T/V reg mercs are a lot smoother and the interior is nicer, but the older ones do appear quicker.
