Not that I'm aware of yet.

Don't forget, this isn't a 'ten minute job' - it requires several hours of labour as the interior body has to be opened up in order to fit the additional wiring, as well as to install the displays and speakers.

I would be interested to know how much the equipment itself costs, and how much time and labour it takes to 'retrofit' these, especially on vehicles that will already be up to ten years old and may not have many more usable years left in service.

While I appreciate the value that 'next stop' audio/visual announcements have for travelling passengers, especially those with accessibility needs, I am concerned that this is another 'operational cost' being shouldered by bus operators, and I am not surprised that some smaller operators are choosing to renew their fleets early - with new vehicles that are 'compliant' with the regulations from the factory.

Isn't this being funded by local transport authority's, as it's become a regularity for buses?

With the screens though wouldnt that be a better option to provide next stops and other (such as the e400evs) info other than the 2 lined NSAs used on e400mmcs?

No, there is £4.65m worth of funding available from the Government but this is intended to help smaller operators:
https://www.rtig.org.uk/aig

Larger companies/groups would be expected to fund this themselves.

Idk if it's a new feature on the NSA but for example on the 12A where there are timing points the NSA states what part of the journey it is, I think the different areas the route goes on it has a name for them and says the bus may stop etc to stay on time.

Pn number 9 NSA been reprogrammed again now gives shelter name and street name it's on
Also places of interest mentioned are
Lye town football
Halesowen town football
Halesowen cricket club
Halesowen cycling club

satters

as if the announcements couldn't get anymore annoying they add extra stuff, and yet still it misses out announcing Halesowen bus station and pool road when running to Stourbridge, and has multiple instances of different names to those on the stop flags

The bus I had today said exactly the same as what's on the flag of the shelter
Ps have you caught a bus today with the new announcements they are the ones with the scrolling front blind now
Or just sitting at home watching BusTimes

MSU2008

I believe that all of the PN E400MMCs have now had the scrolling blinds at the front and the back they are still the same with just showing the final destination. I have gone past a few now on the Hagley Road and they have all got the same.

No they havnt not all been done yet my second bus wasn't done 6938
The ones that have been done have had the 15 merry hill to wombourne programmed in

How come scrolling blinds are returning? I thought it had been said that they're less easy to read than static blinds for those with eyesight issues. Or have I imagined that?

Saw a BC platinum on the X22 the other day and the scrolling didn't seem to work properly, it would scroll through the start of the 'via' points and then quickly reset and start again.

The stop names being announced will be correct, as per the timetables, it is the flags that need updating.

for some reason X22 to Bartley Green doesn't work well on nearly all of the buses now.
