While travelling home on 6102 on the 11A this evening, I noticed that some kind of black mask film has been applied to the top of the front upper windscreen.

Could this be some preparation for having a next-stop display screen being installed?

I would suggest checking the photos on the main website before posting speculation, it has had this replacement pane for several years now.

It's had it for ages, some even have it on the rear back windows. Some even have blue film on the top corners of the top window

7506 has the same.

My guess is that it has had a replacement upper windscreen. It'll just be what the glass suppliers had at hand at the time of replacement. The aperture looks similar to the glass that Lothian uses with their tri-axle Enviro400XLB models.

when will 5401-5430 and 5501-5520 be getting the new NSA (TTS) that is to be on all routes, even the non-platinum ones

Less of a rush to do these as they're pre-2014 vehicles and so their part of the NSA requirement isn't until October 2026 (if they are still in service then)
