Tony, why do you take the side of your chums?
If BusTimes is correct, 4769 left West Brom 58 minutes late:

One trip from Bilston was missed out. He was parked in WB at about 2220. I know somebody who caught this service last night

On certain ticket machines bus times occasionally logs the time the bus gets to a timing point as the time it's departed it, had this happen a few times to myself, even if you sit and wait your time it will show the time the bus arrived so it appears it was running early when in reality it departed on time.

Why does west brom do the x8 in the morning. Plus how would it work eg does the drivers on specific rotas/route need to do it or just a free for all whoever gets picked.

They've done that for years it goes back to them doing a board on the 140/241.

I'm sure they also used to do at one stage, like WN, a board on the 246. I know WN used tridents on one specific journey which did a 256>246>126E>Depot but I'm sure i remember seeing a WB Metro on a 246 that had come into Stourbridge about 15 years ago and then went off NIS at the same time the WN trip had departed

WB have had a one board on PN routes for about 15 years, before that it was the 140/241, then other routes, including the X10? For years it was the same driver every day, probably retired now. At one time with the 140 and then 141/X10 the bus took up service at Bearwood, so less dead mileage than from PN and ended ended in B'ham City Centre, so switched to run 74Es to West Bromwich for rest of day.

Had a phone call this money off NX Customer Services. They confirmed that the above service did leave early

Mega Kickdown

the PB52 has went to WB as we know

intrestingly the last trip to Perry Barr still exists

idk passenger numbers but one would assume it isnt well used at there is a 51 10mins in front of it and we can assume that the last 52 is because its the same route to Perry Barr

now WB has it it doesnt seem to be as benefical for the driver on their last shift, i wouldnt be suprised if they get rid of it, doubt its well usrd

Doesn't the 52 run the old 46 route between City and Perry Barr so goes a completely different way to the 51???

yea, i doubt anyone uses it + it goes against the deadrun route

When I used to drive the late night 952's in 2019, it had a couple of regulars that would get on tbf.

Take it you don't live here or have used the route. There is people who use it in the evenings, the short trips are positioning trips but there is also people who do get off on Walsall Road and connect to the 51 late in the evening, I know because i've done it plenty of times in the past.

The dead run from Perry Barr to West Brom isn't long at all, West Brom run dead to places further like Sutton Coldfield. So there is a point in the short late night run, it's a handy link that is used.
