The vinyl branding application & removal is sub contracted out to a specialist company by NX, from what I've seen on social media, they are currently working in Manchester branding up new Bee Network Buses being delivered for Tranche 3 from January 2025.

The bus doesn't need a repaint when branding is removed, the vinyl branding is simply heated up with hot air guns & peels off. Only, buses which have carried allover over advertising, only in extreme cases do buses need repaints, but in that instance, the cost of this is covered by the advertising company.

6998 was debranded in house and was at Walsall nearly two weeks while enough staff were available to do the job, The branding on these was also applied to a plain grey bus, not on top of platinum livery, so when removed, parts of the livery like pin stripes normally on a plain livery have to be applied as well

2 weeks is way to long to have buses off the road just to remove vinyl's , between now and new years every double decker is needed on the road.

I remember some b7 ALX400 4290 -4299 having there Sutton branding removed in house looked a right mess.

Branding removal isnt perfect.

You can see references to the now discontinued Wi-Fi if you look carefully.

I remember those, the 65 ALX400's, Line 33 and 51 Tridents looking an absolute state when they got removed. The Sutton and 65 branded ALX's was a state for a few years before they got into red/white.

Shouldn't all these posts be on the branding topic?

Some of 6835-40 still have a tiny bit of the residue of the X61 branding left (such as a faint Northfield and Selly Oak), despite being debranded over 6 years ago.

Quote from: Celestial Toymaker on September 18, 2024, 05:59:08 PMfair enough but its not good PR and its also not cost cutting when they need a repaint to remove the branding, why not just abandon branding altogether ?

what do you think NX have been doing since 2021?

6996 is now at AG

Now 6995 & 6997 remain at PB

Tony

One not so far noticed (it doesn't track) is 6960 PB-WB leaving just 3 platinums at PB, 6995 & 7 in use and 6805 undergoing RTC repairs after another vehicle hit the back of it.
