I love the '6' because much of the time it feels the absolute opposite of a busy local route, meandering through fields like a country bus.

That was the appeal for me on the original 966 - starting off with the brutalist urban metropolis, to the semi-rural expanses of Little Aston, Four Oaks and that strip of trees along the collector road!!!!
Autofare 3 - the ticket that laughs in the face of contactless!

Not the first time the last remaining types of certain vehicles have been finished off at Walsall!

Yes, was it the final Leyland Lynx's that arrived at Walsall at the end of their lives and seemed to survive a longish time there?

It was a little sad it wasn't Walsall who had the final Metrobuses in the fleet (ignoring the trainers) but Acocks Green instead.

Many other types have also finished at Walsall more recently, such as the Spectras (only operating at WA the last day), B6s and B10s in 2015 and B7RLE Urbans in 2021.

Do you reckon these will still be running in January?

Going further back, Ailsas, Bristol VRTs and Leyland Nationals seemed to last the longest and saw pout active service at Walsall too.

There's a few ifs and maybes, but 4595 was given a fresh MoT yesterday, 4125 has an MoT through to next year

I think NX must be commended on keeping these buses going so long and also when you do retire them other operators want to buy them for further use.

4523? I didn't know it had been withdrawn, I just assumed it would've been kept on longer being euro 6
