Unfortunate about 4535, was an amazing bus until the very end. I did not expect any more work to be done on other euro 6 Tridents considering new electrics are entering service. I thought at this point that any faults which aren't immediately fixable would finish them off.

4679 Probably be next one to go as a heritage hasn't seen rd for a while 😓

It's a shed anyway. Wouldn't be surprised if it does, surprised it didn't die ages ago.

Quote from: Jack on June 24, 2024, 08:27:34 PMI can understand 4740 as that's 17 soon, but 4959? NX managed to fix 4234 when that lost its roof at 11 years old, yet don't seem bothered about replacing a Euro 6 E400 that's 10 years old.
Pedant alert - the chop shop special was 4237 IIRC and actually only had part of the roof damaged, by collision with some tree branches (on the 7, at Perry Common, again IIRC).

Assuming the whole fleet goes electric (and possibly hydrogen....) by 2030, in line with NXWM Policy, it wouldn't be all that long be-fire 4959 would be withdrawn anyway - possibly 4 yrs maximum? 4237 lasted more than that after repair, some of the batch seeing 20 yrs service?

That's definitely going alongside 4651 both aren't euro 6 so they need replacing

So will a eclipse or enviro200 get the corporation livery in replacing 4535?

Remember Tony or anyone can't say anything before hand

Why do you think that? It could range to anything like a hybrid, E40D or whatever WN has

4234 was the chop chop special, the whole roof was taken off it on the 7 hence why it had a new roof and a whole rebuild on the back.

4253 also had its roof taken off back in 2009 from a bridge..

Straightlines

4959 Might be worth rebuilding so they can sell it at an inflated value to TfWM in the next few years...

Using one dead bus to repair two buses makes economical sense, especially as the only cost involved will be labour.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

I guess Wolves are still getting repaints, so suppose they could get a 'new' repaint in Corp livery, bearing in mind it wasnt long after Walsall 4601 got burnt & 1834 replaced it(Presumbly that was previously in red/white anyway, so it would have been due for Crimson sooner or later!).
