anything for the 69 from walsall to wolves
Quite curious to find out what the changes are on the (WB) 89. Hopefully nothing drastic, seems to be running really well
31 can only assume is the old route in Gospel oak being reinstated.

What's wrong with WA 69?
always late
Not -always- late. The only departure 69 is often late is the 17:10 ex Walsall - from my observations, anyway.
oh thank you

I can only presume the timetable change to the 1 is to fit in with this amendment.
The WA69 is NEVER on time, i know, i have catch it from school in an afternoon, its always 10 minutes early or 20 minutes late
Right, so that is only just in the afternoon when the school finishes. In a perfect world, at the hours where the school finishes and peak time comes, buses turn up on time. But unfortunately, in reality, there is a chance buses would be on time or not. What about the day time, can you say it is "NEVER on time" in the day time? Oh, wait. That's right. You're in school.
Every time when I finish university, most of the time, I see WA 69 to be on time in Wolverhampton. Perhaps it might not be on time throughout the route but might be on time when arriving in the bus station.
Maybe Tony could help to answer this using his awesome computer?
Sorry i meant to add that the 69 isn't on time on saturdays either, usually when i catch it home from Walsall its about 5-6 minutes late, similar to the old 369
The 69 has very tight running time. If it gets held up anywhere it ussally be late all
The way back to Walsall. I dont know wheather it Has improved since moved back to Bus Station.
On Saturdays 69/70/70A can be late due to sainsbury and green lane.
And football days in Wolverhampton 69/89/40 often late.
For example Wednesfield to New Invention
69 14 Mins
89 10 Mins
An extra 4 mins to go round Coppice Farm is not enough at least 7 mins extra is required.
i think the 69 should come off Coppice Farm and be replaced with the 41
The 28 and 41 should be on coppice farm
I wonder what the route change to the 966 is going to be? Will it just be something to do with a different road in the Airport?
oh dear god I've just spotted the route change for the 966....
When are they going to stop pretending it's a route worthy of a 9xx number? Because to me it harks back to the days when it was a bona fide exoress, now it goes right round the wrekin between Erdington and Chelmsley, genuinely would be quicker for anyone on that route to get a bus all the way to town and a 900 to the airport
Im happy to see the (WB)89 has been rerouted to serve St Pauls Rd again (instead of Oldbury Rd), St Paul's Rd now has a direct service to Oldbury again, it was ridiculous to send the 89 down the Oldbury Rd in the first place
The 1 & 2 from Cannock are going to have 'faster journey times'. Cant really see how they can do that?
Totally agree with you sh4318 some sanity has returned. It's still a ridiculous route going round in circles. Love it when people get on from city/Dudley road, do you go smethwick high street, oh yes I reply, when the bus does a u turn at victoria park they can't get off fast enough, those that stay till high street say never again. How I chuckle inside.

It's my main bus to Birmingham - when I catch the bus that is. That was such a pointless route change. If anything it just makes the route longer. I used to laugh to myself when people used to board at Blue Gates asking if the bus went to Birmingham, often times the driver didn't say that it would take over half an hour to get there
I use to explain to customers the route would go through londerry queens head first most just ignored my comments to catch the 87 for a direct route, what really irritates me these customers would keep coming to me when are we getting to the high street, how much longer drive, are u sure u is going to da high st that type thing. I simply just give up keep me mouth shut.
Surely there must be a better way of doing this route.
IMO 88 was great route compared to this debacle we call 89, towards the end the 88 running time had been sorted out it became reliable when chopped to blackheath then the powers that be go and scrap it.

The 88 was a great route. The frequency cuts to every 30 minutes on Saturday and every 30 minutes during evening peaks signalled the end of it. I remember during the evening seeing buses heading to Birmingham from Londonderry, Queens Head empty. Saying that, buses coming the other way were usually jam packed. I do like the 89, but I miss the 88

You & me both Bob.
Before I get accused of slagging arriva off I mean that I don't think the actual 1 & 2 routes are being changed. So can't see how they can have "faster journey times" unless theyre making them limited stop which I can't see happening

Can't speak for the 1, but if they make the 2/2a non stop Walsall to Bloxwich, that'll p*** off a few passengers including my mother!
Both routes are relatively fast between walsall and bloxwich anyway plus theyd lose out on any potential passengers in leamore....mind you with the 301 /2 being so frequent I wouldn't have thought it would make any difference

It just means it wont interwork with the 27 on evenings and Sundays
I heard the 25 will be run by Diamond on the evenings and 27 Arriva on the evenings part of the 25 will be the new 54 route continuing to Bilston apparently. No doubt as usual we'll all find out 2 days before it actually happens!!

A seemingly wise change diverting the 53 to operate Trinity Way/Kenrick Park instead of the Birmingham Rd. It shouldn't be delayed by West Bromwich Albion home games (well, not as much), M5 delays/rush hour. It also means residents of Kenrick Park/Trinity Park now have 4 buses per hour to West Bromwich (2 in the evenings and Sunday) with the 53 and 83, and a direct service to Bearwood again. Something that was lost after the Sandwell Network Review, which saw the 444 withdrawn. I don't know if this change will affect those between Brasshouse Lane and West Bromwich who currently use the route, the old 450 has always gone that way, at least to my knowledge.

Why only the 41? there's multiple routes with the same number thanks to the Centro Network reviews
Bring back the town numbers. What a stupid mistake by Centro.
My point was that the WMT website lists the (WB) 41 as being withdrawn, but does not mention that it is the WB 41 they mean...

Arriva have won the Centro contract for the Evening & Sunday 27 and the 62/A. A notice on buses mentions that it is going to be operated by another operator but the NX website only mentions that it has been withdrawn
I don't understand why these big operators and centro are never honest about service changes and come out posters lacking in info with no commitment to anything. They give as little info as is possible leaving passengers and staff in the lurch...it is completely shambolic and unacceptable. These people need to get to work, visit sick relatives, job interviews etc (passengers & Staff) yet they don't know what bus is going where in 2 weeks time...
YET DRIVERS GET SACKED FOR RUNNING 5 MINS EARLY!!???
you should be ashamed the lot of you
2 weeks time all this is happening and nobody knows anything..PATHETIC!!!
Just to say with the poster about the 25. NX really do need to explain things better it makes no sense, to me atleast. Plus going off of what 4006 just said Timetables. How long does it take to print a timetable booklet. these timetables, going of off previous occastioons, probably won't be out until 2015 knowing NX.
Not a rant just saying my point. :)
There are pdf timetables on the NXWM website. Seems odd that the last journeys on the 25 finish at i54 and presumably go empty to Park Lane.
;
The 54 seems to cater for 22.00 shift changes, I would have thought it worth at least trying a 25 about that time.
;
No mention of the 25 changes on nwm list.

Some slight timetable changes compared to the original registration and a move of terminal stop in Bilbrook, although no obvious route change in Bilbrook.
was there any notices to explain that the 77 would no longer be ran by NXWM on a Sunday and that it would be taken over by another operator, It makes no odds to me as I have a nBus card, but it seems that the passengers are still under the impression that NXWM still operate the 77 on a Sunday and needless to say this caused a few problems for the driver and small minority of people abused the driver when he explained that they couldn't get on with that pass, causing the driver to run late, so in light of this will there be any notices put if not already, I know it might be a little late but it at least there would be something there telling passengers this is the case ?

Yes on every single Walsall bus and most of other garages, on both the NXWM and NWM web pages and in the advert that was in the free paper, but as you are asking that question and you ride around on those buses a lot it shows you are one of the many that getting information to is nye on impossible to do. Network West Midlands haven't yet managed to obtain the mobile phone numbers to ring & tell them personally

in my defense I have not seen nothing up on buses- hence why I asked & well NetworkWM best get there skates on then if that is the case then this problem will not happen in the near future ::)
Surely as mentioned by Tony to me on a previous post, Arriva take Nx passes with 50p payment, or is the arrangement different for subsidised services?
I remember A2Z wouldnt do it on the old 351 when they ran on there.

The 50p supplement for boarding with an NXWM pass has increased to 60p and is now only available 0600 and 1800 Monday to Saturday.

They really do take the **** at Arriva, don't they!
I don't really see why Arriva should take NXWM passes at all, they can't benefit commercially surely unless on competing services against NXWM i.e 110. Otherwise with a commercial head would tell people to just pay up full fare.

A chance of getting some fairly decent loadings by offering a concession to Nx passengers & they cock it up.
Diamond did the same. I was quite happy to pay a small amount to get somewhere quicker & they got rid!

The trouble is, as several operators have found out, is offering these supplements that are paid 'occasionally' actually encourages more people to buy NX only passes and can actually decrease revenue
Also offering a small supplemental fare for other companies passes lowers the average fare which in turn lowers the concessionary fare reimbursement.
Besides why should they give a concession for a companies pass when that company don't run that service. That's what the nbus pass is for.

And do Asda accept Tesco Clubcards? I think not.
Wasn't it BCC in the early days of deregulation on the 16 who introduced this idea?
I think it was actually buran travel that started it. Only 10 back then
Anyone spotted the Walsall 77 in leaflet form since the change?
