Very good, a genuine rare working!
However I don't mean to be pedantic, but it's a B10L (B-ten-L), not a B1OL ::)

Most likely a typo especially as O and 0 are next to each other on the keyboard

Suppose in the evenings it makes sense, less people about, plus less chance for vandalism.
Wolverhampton:
4603 on a very rare working of Route 26/62/62A/11 (Late Afternoon) (These routes interwork)
Well it had 26 on the destination and it went onto the journey on the 11 which comes off the 26/62. This is the first time a double decker has operated the 26/62 so ultra rare
Nothing spectacular to report today:
2099 - 5

Did anyone find out why Spectra 4005 was in Leamore yesterday, as per the other thread?
I assume it was going to the depot for something, but what?

Gather Mossley buses were diverted direct via Broad Lane for a time earlier, due to a fatal accident in the area.

It does seem weird doesn't it? I also watched that there were a lot of non hybrid buses on the 22/23 today so thats probably why if theyre at Wolves for training and someone mentioned one was at Hartstones having something done.

It does seem weird, have been in Harbourne several times this week, on Monday there were two Hybrids on the 24. I think that WN are only borrowing an Enviro Hybrid now as they have there own B5HLs.

Ash mentioned in another thread that one of BC's B5LHs has been at Great Bridge for maintenance today, 5501 does appear to have been off the road for a while, and as you say 5403 will most likely have been at PL again for type training. So there are Hybrids short on Saturdays lately. BC do seem to favour putting 2 or 3 on the 24 and they tend to be on there right through to the end of service. Peak only boards Mon-Fri on the 22/23 tend to be Tridents.

Reasonably unusual to be fair, although deckers do occasionally show up on the 48.
Fair enough, I've seen deckers on there before so wasn't too sure, never seen a Gemini though its normally ALX.
Only one I've seen today is 4012 on WN28, most likely covering for a dead B6LE.
Rarest I've seen this year I think.

Today
4013 on the 27A. I have never seen a decker on this route before so must be a rare working.
4003 on the 28 (WN) usually excels if still going or B6.
4002 on WN28.
Possibly yet another B6LE breakdown.

This hasn't covered for a breakdown ,4002 has been on the 28 since first thing this morning.
There have been two spectras on the 28 with three single deckers on the 59
All these Spectra unusual workings would probably have been on the 1 if it wasn't for the Hybrids and the 2 Mercs leaving has probably also contributed

You saying that Winston, i saw a driver struggling with a Dudley bound hybrid around 10:45 just outside Sedgley (driver seen walking round vehicle looking underneath), missed the number, but know it was an unbranded one, a vehicle then seen returning on a 1E to Wolverhampton again unbranded. maybe it went empty to Tettenhall and broke down there. Just a thought!

The 5 has usually got a few Mercs running on it, espcially in the evenings. E200s are a bit rarer. However, what do you mean 300? NXWM don't have any Enviro 300s.

Very rare that the 311/3 get a double decker either,. There a low bridge on the way back to depot and i think that at least the 311/3 are banned from Double Deckers.

Are they a couple of Omnilinks down today at Walsall?
The omnilinks seem to get first priority on the 4/4H/4M which needs 21 buses? only 18 branded if there all out in service so always needs a few spares and the 4 never gets a double decker haven't seen one on since it transferred to Walsall.
Very rare that the 311/3 get a double decker either,. There a low bridge on the way back to depot and i think that at least the 311/3 are banned from Double Deckers.
They could run double deckers on the 4 & Dudley if the buses were sent via Rolling Mill Street, but I suppose there's bound to be one driver who will forget etc etc.
(Still about time we had a new open topper ! LOL)
West Brom could run double deckers on the 45 if they wanted, couldn't they?

There has been doubles on the 45/405 in the past, yes
NathanJC,B10L on the 69 are the allocation so 1436 on there isn't unusual.
Wish we had a total list of NXWM and the allocation for each, then we would know for certain what an unusual working would be.
We each know our individual areas, but if you go spotting out of that area, you get stuck on knowing what is unusual.

Not sure where rolling mill street is but WB used to put double deckers on the 404 occasionally there's no low bridges on the service so would be fine. The lowest bridge I'm guessing would be sandwell and dudley rail bridge but theres no issue there.

yes, the problem is the route to depot. before now a 311 double decker has had its roof ripped off by a driver thinking he only had a single decker!

I understood the PE Enviros are getting close to exceeding the milage allowance on the maintainence contract which is why they are to be swapped with older Enviros from PB / YW. So, as much I love to Enviros on the 120 why are they allowing them to clock up even more miles?
The 241 is all Enviro400 today: 4820 4829 and one other unidentified Enviro (it should come past my house again at 19:20 so I'll look for its number then) - here is 4820: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nitromatt1/8586604972/in/photostream

Especially on a Sunday when there's hardly anyone about! The Enviro's are needed on the 120/140 Mon-Fri, not weekends, still hoping that when the swap occurs PE will benefit rather than just simply loose out by getting older buses

Afternoon journeys on the 120 can get quite busy on Sundays
4814 was the other E400 on the 140/241
Also 4813 was on the 120
I wonder if the decision for several PE Enviros on other routes today was to do with the weather? Do they consider the Enviros to deal with the hilly roads best in these conditions?

Well yesterday evening there was a Merc (1521) on the 120. Not only are the Mercs bad on snowy/icy roads, but it shouldn't be on there anyway as the 120 goes into the low emission zone in the city centre

They must do as it takes around 3 hours to do one 'loop' of the 140/241 (e.g Dudley - Halesowen - Dudley - Birmingham - Dudley) including layover time. Therefore for an hourly service 3 buses are needed
I travelled on 4814 on the 140 today - on the jpurney that must leave Dudley about 12.45 which was about 20 mins late - I had given up on it turning up so had to run to catch it & the driver remarked that it had been broken down in Blackheath for an hour and a half....

They have been unusual until recently. Whether they will continue to appear on the 27/A remains to be seen
They've not long been in wolves don't forget, once we had a full contigent its always been one or more a day monday to saturday and also some evenings, it would be currently more noticeable due to the diversion in sedgley which renders mercs too big to fit

Interesting, especially now that 5 PE Enviros are to be left at PE. And if the mileage is high why transfer the to YW for the 50, surely a renegotiation of the maintainance contract would have been better!

If it was as simple as just re-negotiating any contracts, I would have thought that is what would have been done, rather than going to the trouble of debranding both PE & YW buses and swapping them. It may be that the contracts can't be re-negotiated until the initial agreed term is up/or it would cost too much to break the contract

823 is the only unbranded E200 at Pensnett, so it must be that one.
