4814 was the other E400 on the 140/241

Also 4813 was on the 120

I wonder if the decision for several PE Enviros on other routes today was to do with the weather? Do they consider the Enviros to deal with the hilly roads best in these conditions?

Well yesterday evening there was a Merc (1521) on the 120. Not only are the Mercs bad on snowy/icy roads, but it shouldn't be on there anyway as the 120 goes into the low emission zone in the city centre

Yeah, the 140 & 241 interwork everyday at Dudley. That's the reason the 241 gets B7RLEs
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Most used routes in bold

They must do as it takes around 3 hours to do one 'loop' of the 140/241 (e.g Dudley - Halesowen - Dudley - Birmingham - Dudley) including layover time. Therefore for an hourly service 3 buses are needed

I travelled on 4814 on the 140 today - on the jpurney that must leave Dudley about 12.45 which was about 20 mins late - I had given up on it turning up so had to run to catch it & the driver remarked that it had been broken down in Blackheath for an hour and a half....

Just to clarify, B6LE's on the 27/A are not rare workings

They have been unusual until recently. Whether they will continue to appear on the 27/A remains to be seen

Ashley

They've not long been in wolves don't forget, once we had a full contigent its always been one or more a day monday to saturday and also some evenings, it would be currently more noticeable due to the diversion in sedgley which renders mercs too big to fit

4681 - 51
4514 - 89
4825 - 120. Which means the 120 was at least half E400 today.
Liking these double deckers on my local routes, more of the same please  ;)

I understood the PE Enviros are getting close to exceeding the milage allowance on the maintainence contract which is why they are to be swapped with older Enviros from PB / YW. So, as much I love to Enviros on the 120 why are they allowing them to clock up even more miles?

Interesting, especially now that 5 PE Enviros are to be left at PE. And if the mileage is high why transfer the to YW for the 50, surely  a renegotiation of the maintainance contract would have been better!
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Sunday 24th
4681 on the 51 has already been mentioned...

4296 and 4638 on wb5
534 on wb49 (possibly not unusual on Sundays)
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

If it was as simple as just re-negotiating any contracts, I would have thought that is what would have been done, rather than going to the trouble of debranding both PE & YW buses and swapping them. It may be that the contracts can't be re-negotiated until the initial agreed term is up/or it would cost too much to break the contract
