Yes looks like the 282 has finally lost the battle. How does the 298/9 do these days? That was a very low patronage route wasn't it? Is it still that way?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it
I agree if they see things fine as they are then no need to make changes. Surprised it seems absolutely nothing is to change mind (it seems that anyway) but good to hear at the same time if it seems things are good as they are at the moment. :)

What on earth has happened to the Dudley bus review? Is it still on. Almost a year since the original consultations? Will be second half of 2016 if anything happens now I reckon.

Quarry bank high street and mount pleasant in full closure tonight. Was not expecting that. Thought that was on this coming Monday. Maybe they are running ahead but I did ask someone manning the road closure and they said possibly another week of evening closures?

Tonight they are working on the middle of the junction so only traffic using the A4036 can travel. All other traffic diverted via coppice lane/merry hill as usual.

There's some nice diversions in place around merry hill tonight due to curry bonk road closures
And by the look of it the 243/4 will be running late
Indeed, in place tomorrow, thursday and friday night too. Then a full closure next Monday. Can understand the 243 being worse off as it is having to go via Coppice Lane to Cradley Heath then go back up the Park Road roundabout just to go back to it's normal route whereas the others need just go to the rail station. Not a huge distance but all adds up I suppose!

The 208 meanwhile seems to have given up using the high street recently (that is not to say it is ignoring it completely though). On a number of days I have seen it go via Saltwells now even both ways, presumably to avoid the traffic from the roadworks at the top of the high street. Makes sense really when it rejoins the route around Dudley Wood anyway.

Quarry Bank High st closed one way apparently this coming week (7pm-3am only) so buses will use St Anne's Road/Quarry Road/Coppice Lane. Resurfacing works apparently. Full closure on the evening of Monday 18th April too.

I saw the street deck in Lye this morning but that was fairly early on.

Loads of buses in long queues along Quarry bank high street and along forge lane to at least Cradley Heath rail station. Really is very slow moving today, probably due to the roadworks at the A4036 junction. Have seen 2 Diamond 002s together too.

Hopefully in about a month the main roadworks should be done with. Sometimes 2 out of 3 lanes on the A4036 have been closed to facilitate the works but obviously affecting traffic heavily.

Presume traffic and the roadworks around Quarry Bank High street/Mount Pleasant are causing significant delays today. Think I saw a hansons 208 use Coppice Lane instead of the high street to Merry Hill. Holiday traffic to merry hill probably not helping either.

I would hope the bus station is not moved round by M&S. The land by the canal is pretty steep, not very conducive to building on. Although if you meant where the car parks are I still hope they wouldn't build it there. The roads along this stretch from the cinema to the roundabout at Level street are clogged up badly especially at peaks and even more at Christmas.

The Pedestrian crossings frequently cause traffic to regularly slow down. Not good for reliability unless the whole road network around there was changed. At least where the bus station is now most services can get to fairly readily along the boulevard and with the new traffic lights at the Coppice Lane and soon to be Quarry Bank High Street Junction, I think service reliability will be maximised if the bus station was kept in its present location.

However I can understand how having it next to the metro stop would help too. I do feel the metro is many years away yet. I'm sure I remember when it was first proposed that it would have been completed in 2013. Lol!

The bus station still needs desperately updating though lol.

Strangely a decker is on the 298/9 this morning!
Saw this decker at the junction of New Farm Road/Grange Lane this afternoon and thought I had gone mad! Still, a nice one to see and certainly one for the very rare workings list!

Interesting to hear about a possible X10. Only limited stop for a fairly small part of the route though imo. Not entirely sure how reliable it will work out.

Still, where on earth is the Dudley bus review?
