Any news then on when these will be arriving, and to which garages?

I think its pretty certain that some will head to BC for the 99 service, but will the rest be going to PE or WB, or both?
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Pensnett are having some for the 222. Apparently it is 37 seat e200s that is on order

PM

Thats good if theyve got 37 seats as anything smaller is too small frankly

The NXWM website says there will be new buses for the new Sandwell Network:

http://nxbus.co.uk/west-midlands/information/service-changes/improved-bus-services-for-sandwell-from-28th-october-2012?utm_source=homebanner&utm_campaign=improved

So would it be fair to say that these new buses will be some of the new Enviro200s for WB garage?

JackC

About time WB got some investment. Hopefully these won't be sent off somewhere else like the Scanias were sent to Walsall...

Ash

Yeah i guess if they were for WB it would replace the current b6le's they have there as they will soon have more transferred in from Walsall and the remaining darts alx200 and 7084/7086.

JackC

I have a feeling the darts won't be going just yet. I reckon WB will get just enough new buses to kill of the B6 completely. The Darts may well just stay a little while longer.

Is there anything wrong with the Darts?

I dont think anything is confirmed but I'm still backing the Enviro 200, it would just make more sense in my eyes.

Side and rear displays on some of them need replacing or fixing. Maybe they could slot LEDs like the front has. However, it's not a major issue and probably won't be fixed in truth. Mechanically, I've been on a few and they seem pretty fine to me although others could probably give you a better insight.

Wolves256

Does anyone know the quantity & delivery dates?
30 & 32 have previously been mentioned

in my opinion they need to go asap. they are potential deathtraps - brakes are terrible, visibility is poor, suspension is non existant especially over speed humps and they rattle like mad, feel like they are going to fall apart. there are a few drivers at the garage who refuse to drive them.
an empty bus is a happy driver.

Sound like average Darts then!! For me it was always the brakes whenever I drove a Dart, never once felt fully in control of one, they always felt like they were running away from you when you started on the brake and then there was always the sudden grab as it finally kicked in. Impossible buses to drive smoothly and as you say, the wierdest suspension of any bus.

The Enviro 200 is the safest option as its tried & tested and has been in service a number of years, while the door forward Wright Streetlight is relatively new still, but the number of orders for it do seem to be increasing of late
