Funny ;D Does 4370 have it? ;)

I saw it on Tuesday, it has not got the Fast & Furious 6 advert. I think it had Epic in 3D advert.

Well its an EPIC bus :D

Pensnett garage has been cleared of all the previously stored long/short Excels, only the two recent Excel arrivals now remain in the storage yard i.e. 684 & 708

I wonder if it has been cleared to make way for all the Merc / B10L withdrawals following the entry in to service of NXC's B7RLE / Enviro 400 + the cascading of NXC's Omnilinks?

Yes, popped to PE today and only 684 & 708 remaining, although engineers were working on them, so think it won't be long before they depart, plus a fire engine was at the garage?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Did you notice if the two toasted Mercs were still there 1663 & 1664? Forgot to look

Didn't look as if any of the buses from the very bottom of the car park have been touched.

I didn't think so, but I always have a look from the bottom end (i.e. the next avenue down), but you can't see those two Mercs very well, only through the gaps. NX don't seem to be in such a rush to dispose of the B10L's in long term reserve, unless they are not fully depreciated yet?

Not sure if this new but has anyone seen the new side destination display on 1704. It's a full destination display in place of the number box above the entrance. Certainly never seen it before - strange to see on an old vehicle - wondered whether it is a trial?

A few were done last year. Don't have the fleet numbers, Winston probably knows. They are the same spec as the side blinds on an Enviro400.

Thanks for that - I must have been sleepwalking for the last 12 months as I've never noticed it on any before
It will be a sad day when 1518 goes as I remember seeing it on its first day in service way back when - The old number 10 on Augustus Rd - seems. Along time ago now &probably is!

Most of the X96 branded ones have been done I think

The window used on the side for the side display, is meant for an Enviro400, as they have the Alexander Dennis Logo on the glass

Not this time Pete  ;)

4 more that I know have had the side destination added at least are 1640, 1641, 1644 & 1646,

Others with at least the front LED's are 1629-1631, 1645, 1649, 1705-7 & 1743, not sure on whether the sides have been treated to LED's as well. 1743 will not be treated being a Mark I Merc with the side route number mounted in the first window

How come there's none at the back it looks weird with front and side electronic displays but roller blinds at the back

By using Flickr pictures I have found out that -

1629 does not have a side LED display
1630 does have one
1631 does also
1645 does not have one on the side
1649 does not also
1705 does have one on the side
1706 does

The only one that I dont know about is 1707

Is there any reason why none have had LEDs fitted at the back?

uniquicity

I'm guessing for cost reasons or that there isn't space at the back of a Merc for a standard size rear LED display.
