Personally I couldn't see these being used in passenger service. My first thought though was that they may be useful if NX was looking to expand on its private hire and contract business - not everyone wants or needs to hire a full-size bus, these mini-buses could be ideal for hiring to smaller groups or schools for example.

I bet people thought the same about Stagecoach's town and city services, and when the ordered them expected them to be on country routes.

Travelling on higher frequency minibus routes may appeal to more potential new passengers that currently travel by car, as there is less likely to anti-social behaviour on board, passengers are all within the drivers view thus making them fell safer etc. It would be more like travelling by a Taxi (minbus) at a much cheaper fare.

or the MiniBuzz concept of the 80s with routes operated by minis, and have a high frequency.

Sure the 298/9 had a combined 10 minute frequency daytime.
