Diamond Solo (think it was MX57 UPS) broken down in Wolverhampton bus station at about 17:10pm

Do you know what route it was on? I can't think what routes Diamond operate in Wolverhampton on Sundays.

They operate the 81 and 26A. The MPD parked behind displayed 81.

Well a Solo would seem the ideal bus to work the 26A

Well I remember in particular when 4301 was at BC, the thing would jump straight out of gear. A bit scary to say the least when you've just pulled out on an island!

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Well it broke down in a inconvenient position
As you said, it wouldn't go into 'Drive' but when it did it made a big shudder

30218 cut on Cradley Heath high street on the 4M took a few minutes but it got going again and lasted the whole day in service. 30218 has been making a weird sound for months now though every time it slows down never heard it before on any other bus.

Was about to post about this! I was on it on the 4H this afternoon and an awful vibrating noise when it slows down though it was ok when it was thrashed

Ash

The vibrating noise was so bad it was actually hurting my ears at some point it was OK when the driver was putting it's foot down on the acceleration it was flying as soon as the driver took their foot off the noise and vibrations were awful didn't sound too well at all but the bus was on the 4H and 4M board constantly today changing between the 2 services and not going on the 4.

It was awful-I will say that the ex ludlows buses are great interior wise though-clearly well looked after. Personally, I would sell these cadets and replace them with some darts to standardise the fleet and genuinely the darts are far more reliable.

4590 broken down in Gornal Wood on the 257, seen at 6pm with engineer investigating the engine.

You may have noticed Diamond have been trying to do that for the last year! You can only sell buses if someone wants to buy them!
