Due to NX:WM changing livery so often, we only ever see old buses in old liveries, so it's hard to compare the styling etc.

Now that there are some all-white Metrobuses, I thought I would try editing 9929 into the current livery, and it has turned out pretty nice:

Method: take a white bus, open it in Fireworks. Draw a red box over the bus with blend mode "color". Then erase all the bits that don't need colouring using the eraser.

Nice! How you manage to copy the original though?

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realise right clicking was disabled. I'm a bit of a security prude so I have Javascript disabled by default so don't see things like that. I'll remove the image if you don't want them edited etc.

(Without Javascript, it's very hard to get viruses from day-to-day browsing. Still happens but lessens it a lot.)

Note for future: yellow step  >:(

It wasn't me who commented, I like it, but if I wanted it gone I could remove it myself, but no, it is staying unless you decide you don't want it

Well maybe its just the buses but that Metro in that livery looks bloody fine to me. There's still a few for sale, lets start a group buy one and spray it like that!  :P

i like this livery, as its more modern. the latest repaints look tons better. if you didnt know this image had been doctored, it could easily pass as real. i think it takes years of this! it would be funny to see one refurbed like this, then go out and snigger when folk realise they'd been fooled and had to board using them nasty things called steps

I would like to see them in the flesh, and while I seriously doubt NX:WM would take it on, the aforementioned Travel Express could. If AM/PM can copy the Cov livery, I'm sure they'd get away with it.

Was well chuffed when I went to University in Leicester, and found out old TWM metrobuses stopped at my bus stop. The doors opening and seeing West Midlands Travel logos inside was uplifting in a foreign place haha. Even better that one had 503 in the blinds.

That looks excellent. Shame we will never see it come to reality. There are ways to save photos now even with the right clicking disabled, learnt it in IT.

Can you copy photo's offa Flikr? out of interest????

There is absolutely no way to stop a photo being copied off the Internet. Purely because, when it comes down to it, to view an image it must be downloaded onto the user's computer by the web browser program.

But simply, if Javascript is not enabled (or Javascript is disabled, since it's normally enabled by default), there is no way for right-clicks to be disabled, and so anything can be right-click-copied. (I see no harm in saying that since really Javascript is an optional part of web browsing.)

In this day and age the simplest and best way to stop an image being copied is just to ask that it not be copied, truthfully. I think most people would respect that. (Those who wouldn't would get around it anyway.)

Even if right clicking was stopped for good, all one would have to do is search for the image on their computer in their cache and it'd be there already saved. That's why New York is changing their rules on child pornography (since if you view it accidentally, it is automatically saved onto your computer so you've broken the law, currently).

Anyway,

I wanted to see if the livery treatment could turn any bus around, or whether the Metrobuses just actually look good. The result wasn't too kind on this Duple Dartline (from google/ showbus.com)

It doesn't matter how many Metrobuses they own. None would be repainted regardless. They once operated over 1000 Metrobuses don't forget. 2001-3124 I believe, so 1124 Metrobuses!

John

Don't forget 7006, 7007 (Rolls Royce engined) and the 5 683* prototype Metrobuses.
