TWM Mk2 Metrobuses with orange door poles

Was casting my mind back to about 20 years ago and remember a few Mk2 Metros having orange centre door poles. (2508 was one) and it seemed to be just PB and HY buses, anybody know the reason for this?
Also I remember the 101 branded bus having green poles, but I'm trying to work out why orange.

Im sure some of the 51 branded examples had them too

High contrast for visually impaired iirc along with the "M" on the doors or the triangle on the N113's or the L on Lynx's etc

Didn't all the MK11a Metros have the orange rippled plastic covers on the holding poles as well? Sure the E/F/G reg buses had them.

Yes all MKIIA's had them :)

I remember those poles, they were bumpy (don't know how else to describe them). I also remember there was a MKII with a MKIIa rear emergency exit window at WB

It had a Marshalls refurb externally and internally as all the others. But no re trimmed seats. A lot of the seats were also the original ones with brown vinyl trim. Absolutely no padding left at all in them!

Didnt they just look same as the mk2A or were they different at all?

Ah it could be 28*2-4 ring a bell, but couldn't remember if it was 2862-4 or 2892-4.
I think they were just the same as standard MK2's but with just the larger rear emergency. Maybe this was a new option being available by MCW at the time, as I don't ever recall seeing older Metrobuses at different operators having them, but some later MK2's had them.
