I've noticed that 4234 no longer has a rear grill after it's refurb, the rear now looks identical to Coventry's ALX B7 examples, 4414-4424

Is the rear window still rounded?

Shame most of our buses have lost their original badges fitted at manufacturing.

Yes it is still rounded. What is that grille for? As it must not be needed if it was not replaced on repair, and the Coventry ones don't have them at all

Hazard a guess something to do with air con, it wouldn't be the air intake as that's on the side.

More to the point reference B7 ALX, what's in that plastic "box" which obscures the nearside of the rear window?

Oh and John, don't tell other drivers you're a bus nut, they'll rip the sh*t out of you.

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

I can believe that! I wouldn't really call myself a 'nut', but I haven't wanted to let on. I have not wanted it to get in the way of the job. (it is also not the reason why I applied to drive either)

It's not so bad now as it used to be. It's amazing how many I see nosing at my website on the driver's internet computers!

L.S,

Anyone that finds out your a bus nut tends to rip the sh*t out of you in my experience, these days I tend to keep it to myself!

I dunno, I'm regularly posting bus/train related stuff on Facebook, and no one has really ripped it out of me for it, yeah people have said I'm weird but I admit that. Suppose it depends who you tell, if they're already friends or even just colleagues who know you a bit then they accept it more than telling strangers

I think they're both back, Tony has since reported 4293 as in refurb and 4296 was also spotted parked up at WA this week

Without taking the topic over...

I set up a second Facebook account just for transport related stuff because people who've grown up with me know I'm a nut but I still wouldn't want to fill up their screens with waffle. In the same way I avoid telling people about the hobby. If I say I'm a photographer I'm still being half honest I suppose :D

1792 in for refurb now

P419 EJW

I am not sure if this has been mentioned but I notice that 4776 no longer has leather seats. It has the grey dotted moquette(sp?).

Have NX run out of leather? Or have they just got bored with it? Only two possible reasons I can think of for them doing this cause they've done of PBs omnilinks as well haven't they?
